On the third day after Damon and Harry stayed at the Hog's Head Inn, Dumbledore came to the door.
Harry was surprised when he opened the door and saw him. He didn't understand how the other party knew they were here?
What made him feel even more strange was that Dumbledore actually asked him to avoid the following conversation.
"Harry, do you mind giving us two masters and trainee some time?"
"Master and trainee - I mean, of course."
Harry's pupils narrowed, and he stuttered in shock at the information that Dumbledore seemed to inadvertently absolute.
"Thank you, you just need to wait at the door for a moment."
Dumbledore closed the door, cast a soundproof spell, and looked at Damon who was calm and composed.
"I didn't expect you to bring Harry out. Have you forgotten the 'magic of love' I mentioned to you?"
"I didn't forget. Harry has lived there for a month. Isn't that enough?"
"It's enough, but why did you do such a thing? I must remind you that Harry must regard that place as his 'home', otherwise, this magic will no longer be effective."
Dumbledore sat opposite Damon and observed the expression of his disciple. Just one month after the summer vacation, the child had done two things that surprised him and made him impossible.
Not only did he find Burns, bypass the legal escape, learn Apparition in advance, but he also brought Harry out of that house.
These two things all hit the points that Dumbledore cared about.
"Take a place like that as your home?" Damon smiled, his tone disrespectful. "Teacher, I'm sorry, what I'm going to say next may be a little hurts."
He looked directly at Dumbledore, "I think you have completely forgotten about the feelings of young people."
"Harry was treated as a servant in that place, cleaning the room, mowing the lawn, and not being able to use any of his own things.
His personal will was completely restrained and locked in that damn basement.
You trampled on his self-esteem at an age when a teenager cares most about dignity. The basement he lived in didn't even have a toilet. When he offended the Dursleys and was locked up, he was only allowed to go to the toilet three times a day, so he had to delay all his personal needs as much as possible.
He lived with rats and cockroaches in the basement, and his beloved pet owl was locked in a cage all day, without even a chance to go out for a breath.
Is this what you call home?
If it were me, I would never take a place like this as my home, but there is no doubt that the spell is still in effect, isn't it?"
Dumbledore did not respond immediately.
But Damon did not let him go, "As far as I know, you have been to the Dursleys before, but you are used to it? Do you think that this will make Harry easier to control?
Or, for your so-called greater interests, Harry can endure these ten dark and difficult years? Professor, I'm afraid--"
"Stop! Don't say it,"
Dumbledore begged for mercy.
He found that he always seemed to be at a disadvantage in front of this disciple-why could he always see his own illusions and point them out accurately?
"Damon, your words are like knives sometimes, sharp--direct." Dumbledore paused, "Of course, and effective."
He couldn't help sighing in his heart.
Is this the way young people talk? Straight to the point, tit-for-tat, without any room for easing, until one side completely overwhelms the other.
Just like their previous conversations.
At that time, they could argue for a point of view for a whole day and night without feeling tired. Now,
"Have you told Harry about these things?"
"No, he doesn't need to bear these."
Dumbledore breathed a sigh of relief - he did the same, he exhaled deeply.
He didn't expect that - he had come to Damon with a somewhat blaming attitude, but the conversation just started, the pace was so fast that his brain couldn't turn around - it's not that he couldn't think, but it was difficult to force his own ideas to be corrected, to immediately make himself aware of the mistakes in his thoughts and correct them.
Fortunately, he was Dumbledore.
"I was wrong."
This was the first sentence Dumbledore said after thinking for a minute.
After admitting this fact, he became a little relieved, but the expression on his face was still a little "scared".
"I seem to have accidental fallen into the trap I had foreseen - I thought I had deeply understood my mistakes, and I thought I could avoid them."
Dumbledore's appearance seemed to have become older.
Damon noticed his loss, sighed, stood up, and put his hand on his shoulder.
Dumbledore turned his head to look at him, his expression seemed a little depressed - he looked no different from an ordinary old man whose grandson had just died.
"Well, don't take it too seriously. Don't you still have me as your apprentice? If you do something wrong, I will tell you. Just correct it , won't it? It
is the greatest virtue to know one's mistakes and correct them. Have you heard this saying?"
"Is this the culture of that ancient Eastern country you mentioned?" Dumbledore smiled. "It seems that I will go and learn it when I have time."
"Well, no need. You are so busy. I will teach you."
Seeing that Dumbledore had cheered up again, Damon sat back in his seat, and the atmosphere between the two of them became much more relaxed.
"Why, you came here specially, so you must have something else to talk about?"
"Actually, I just happened to be nearby, so I came to see you - but I think we don't have to avoid Harry in the next conversation."
Dumbledore made the first change.
He opened the door and called Harry, who was staring at the window at the door, into the room.
This made Harry nervous - what exactly were these two people discussing in there?
When did Dumbledore accept Damon as his apprentice? So Damon's spell level was so perfect?
He couldn't wait to share all this with Hermione and Ron. After all, he couldn't come to any conclusions by himself.
"Sit down, Harry."
Dumbledore waved his wand, and a new chair spontaneously transformed next to the round table.
The three sat around.
Dumbledore spoke first:
"In the future summer vacations, Harry doesn't have to stay at the Dursleys for a long time, but he has to stay for at least half a month."
"Really?!"
Harry didn't expect that there was something about him, but this sudden accident made him ecstatic!
He had just sat down, but he almost jumped up from the chair. The happiness on his face was simply indescribable. He wanted to share it with the whole world, but the two people present didn't seem to understand his discomfort.
But he knew that all this must be related to Damon.
Harry remained ecstatic and just stared at Damon - he couldn't express his happiness and gratitude in words.
Harry's performance was seen by Dumbledore. While he was relieved, the light in his eyes seemed to become turbid - as expected, this was really a very important thing.
But why did he subconsciously ignore this point before?
"Of course it's true." He smiled, "But that place is still your home, do you understand?"
"I understand!"
Harry nodded repeatedly. As long as he could not stay at the Dursleys' house, he would understand anything!
Ps: I've heard the feedback my translations need improvement. I will work hard to make them better, and I hope you will not lose hope."
Thanks....:)
