Only first-year students at Hogwarts can enter the castle from the Black Lake.
After saying goodbye to Luna and the others, Damon walked towards Hogsmeade Station in a crowd of people.
On the dark streets washed by rain, there were about a hundred horseless carriages parked.
However, that was in front of people who had never seen death.
In Damon's vision, there were clearly skinny black Pegasus standing between the shafts. They had huge bat wings and dragon-like heads, their eyes were empty white, and their skin was close to their bones, looking weird and domineering.
Damon walked forward, and before he could extend his hand, the Thestral in front of him lowered its head meekly - unlike its ominous and ferocious appearance, this magical creature is very loyal once it is tamed and will never leave its master.
'Not bad, find time to ask the headmaster for one. Damon 's
hand touched the cold thin skin, and he watched the breath from the Thestral's nostrils condense into water vapor in the cold night air. He nodded with satisfaction and was about to climb into the carriage.
Suddenly, the Thestral snorted and nodded to Damon, indicating that he could ride on it.
"Are you okay, Damon?"
Harry and others followed him, not understanding why he suddenly reached out to touch the air.
"This is a Thestral, a magical creature that can only be seen by those who have witnessed death and understood its meaning. You can't see it yet.
Of course, it's best not to see it forever."
Damon pointed to the air in front of him and explained to them, and climbed on the horse while several people were skeptical.
To Harry and others, it was as if he was sitting in the air.
"Oh my God, there is such a magical thing?"
Hermione's eyes lit up, and Harry and Ron looked at the air in front of them, quite envious, and "reluctantly" leaned over to get into the moldy carriage.
Damon's "hanging horse" posture attracted the attention of many people. They sat in the carriages, looking at Damon floating in the air, whispering.
The carriages lined up, creaking and shaking on the road.
They passed the tall stone pillars on both sides of the gate leading to the school grounds, with winged wild boars on top of the pillars. Hogwarts Castle was getting closer and closer. The towering towers looked even darker against the dark night sky. Occasionally, a window could be seen emitting a bright red light above their heads.
The carriage stopped beside the stone steps leading to the oak door with a clang. Damon turned over and got off the horse, and thanked the thestral in front of him softly.
Harry and others' mood soon became bad. There was a person they hated very much waiting at the door.
Snape, still with a greasy hair, stood in the light in a black wizard robe, like an old bat.
He stood guard at the gate, and after seeing Harry and Damon, his signature sarcastic smile appeared on his face, which was meaningful, but in fact, there was a flash of relief in his eyes, but he would never reveal it.
When Damon and the others passed by, Snape said:
"Damon, I told you to be careful before and not fall into my hands, didn't I? It seems that you didn't remember my words well."
Neville shrank his shoulders, and Hermione and the other two turned their heads to look at Snape angrily - Damon had always said good things for him, but he always returned kindness with hatred.
They really couldn't understand why Snape always targeted Damon and Harry? They had never offended him before!
"Oh? Have I fallen into your hands? How come I didn't know?"
Damon sneered, and his eyes were full of smiles when he looked at Snape - he couldn't wait to see Snape's reaction after seeing the photo.
"I hope you can still look so relaxed at six o'clock on Friday night after school starts - by the way, this is the time for your detention, don't forget it."
Snape said, and walked away with a raised mouth.
"Detention? On what right does he put you in detention at the beginning of the term? Let's go find Professor McGonagall."
"No need. This was something Dumbledore and I agreed on in advance. Don't worry, Snape and I have important things to do."
Damon comforted Hermione, "You see, the adult is quite cunning, isn't he? He accepted me as a student, but just wrote me a blank check and didn't come to teach me. Instead, he let Snape, the old bat, teach on my behalf."
"I think Dumbledore has his own considerations. Maybe he is really too busy. After all, Dumbledore has never accepted a disciple before."
"What? He has never accepted a disciple before?"
Harry had never thought about this question. He thought Dumbledore had the habit of accepting disciples.
"Harry." Hermione spoke word by word, "That's Dumbledore, the greatest white wizard of the time. He has so many things to do every day that we can't even imagine. How could he have time to accept a student as his apprentice?
The professors at Hogwarts are enough to teach us what we need to learn."
"But... he really shouldn't let Professor Snape teach Damon. God knows what he will do to Damon?"
"In any case, I'm sure he won't teach Damon magic honestly. Look at him. The new semester hasn't even started yet, but he can't help but come up to provoke us. It's obvious that he's up to no good."
Damon listened to the discussion of the three people, with a slight curl of his lips - Snape, that dead tsundere, he was obviously the first to confirm whether Harry had entered the school, but he was misunderstood like this. He deserved it.
"Okay, let's not discuss this for now. Hasn't the new semester started yet? Don't worry about Snape. I'm not afraid of him at all." Damon quickened his pace. "Let's go and see the sorting of the first-year students. Which house do you think Luna and Ginny will be sorted into?"
"Ginny will of course be Gryffindor! As for Luna, do you think she will join Gryffindor? After all, she looks pretty... Never mind, I can't say."
"Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. I think she knows a lot, even though that knowledge is a bit weird."
The group sat in the hall and watched the entire sorting. In the end, Luna went to Ravenclaw.
Thanks to Damon's intervention, Ron and Harry did not take the risk of using the magic car to go to school this time, avoiding serious punishment, and Ron's wand would not be broken. The two were in a very comfortable mood.
When Ginny was sorted into Gryffindor, the two clapped their hands enthusiastically. Harry stared at Ginny's beautiful face and had some subtle thoughts in his mind, but he quickly suppressed them.
That was Ron's sister, and his happiness was only out of concern for his good friend's sister.
In the new semester, he had to focus all his energy on Quidditch and spell practice, and had no time for romance.
