Shall Not Speak His Name

While Lily was lost and engrossed looking at the picture on the wall, she noticed that there were details that were around the portrait that anyone would miss, but she didn't understand why they were ruined like that.

'Why in the world does it look like someone purposely ruined this picture? Is there something they are trying to hide from someone?' Lily thought to herself as she walked closer to the picture, trying to see what she would find out about it.

"What might you be doing here?" Someone asked from the other end of the corridor, startling Lily.

She turned to see the butler looking at her with a puzzled look on his face, Lily smiled when she saw him looking at her like that.

"I was looking around the house, I bumped into this picture here, and I wanted to know why there is one with a scratched-up face. Who ruined it?" Lily was looking at the picture, it was a bit odd to her that there was a picture like that.

The butler looked at the picture, then he looked at Lily. he was not sure what he would be able to tell her all she needed to know, but then.

"Well, Lady Vivian, that would be something that you would learn from the family members. I don't have the full history of the picture you are looking at here." The butler was not going to let anything keep him from thinking about what he would be trying to tell her about what happened to the portrait.

"You said you were looking around the house, right? If you want, I can give you a tour of it, and you would be happy to see the entire place with not much of an issue." Butler suggested with a smile on his face, Lily turn to look at him, and she was a bit calm when she heard that he would be happy to help show her around the house.

"I would love to join you for the tour," Lily smiled, she knew that this way she would be able to see around the house and find the spots she would use for her mission.

The Butler took Lily and began showing her around the house, it was not something anyone would even want to think twice before doing. For some reason, almost everyone in the house feared Lucien and would do anything to make sure that they were not in a bad situation with him, knowing that he would not be trying to kill them.

"The mansion is huge, looking at it from an angle, one might think that it's just small. And look at these paintings, they look quite expensive." Lily said as she looked around, she could see the well-decorated mansion walls and everything.

"Yes, the Rosario Mansion is one of the most expensive houses in Dravenport, costing around $100,000,000 for its decorations alone." The butler said Lily was a bit stunned when she heard the price of everything there, but it was not a shock for her since she already knew that Lucien was the king of the Underworld, and all the Mafia families answered him.

"You don't say?" Lily, still acting surprised, saw another picture, it was one of Lucien and another man, but it was still the same thing. The other man's face was scratched up and ruined, not revealing who was behind the picture.

"Uhmm, can I ask you something?" Lily was looking at the butler, she was not sure what he was going to give her as an answer.

The butler turned and looked at Lily, he was waiting for her to say something.

"Is there a problem, my lady?" The butler asked, looking at Lily, he was trying to make sure that he would be able to help her in any way he could.

"Umm, there was this picture on the wall I saw on the other side. I noticed that it was ruined. May I ask who is in the picture?" Lily asked the butler, but immediately she said something about it, she noticed that the Butler was a bit uneasy, and it was clear to her that there was something else going on.

"I don't know what to tell you about this, but that picture belongs to someone in the family who lost a long time ago. But then, before that, he had been the one who ruined the pictures," The butler said with a low tone, it was like he was trying to hide something.

Lily could notice with the tone he was using that there was something that was not in any way right. "What was his name?"

The butler didn't reply, he was extremely quiet for some reason. "I am sorry, Lady Vivian, we are not allowed to speak his name or anything concerning him in this house."

Lily was a bit surprised by the way the butler told her that they were not meant to even talk about the person in the picture if they were going to do anything with him.

'Might be some kind of feud that led to his death, or maybe he is not that important to them, so they are trying to make sure that there was no way he would be brought up anywhere.' Lily was trying her best not to let her curiosity get the best of her, but it was going to be hard for her to do. She was not going to let that be the last time she would be dealing with that.

The butler showed Lily around the house, and Lily also saw the different places she could use for exits when she would be planning to leave that night. The butler seemed to have enjoyed taking Lily around the house, and it was like he was not going to have a problem with her.

"Do well to join them for Dinner, if you want anything, make sure you let me know." The butler said before taking his leave, he had taken Lily back to her room, trying to make sure that there was no problem for her.

Lily smiled when she looked at the butler, It was a bit heartwarming to know that there was at least another good soul in the mansion. "I will…" Lily was shocked to see that she had been talking to the butler for the past few minutes, and she had not asked him his name.

"Excuse me, pardon my manners. I don't know your name." Lily was looking at the Butler, she wanted to know the name of the man she had been talking to for the past few minutes.

"If that is all, my name is Jonathan." The butler smiled when he looked at Lily.

Lily was happy that he didn't bother telling her his name like that. "It will be lovely being in your care, Jonathan."
