The incident with the young man didn't bother Silas too much. He didn't feel angry; instead, he found it somewhat amusing.
"Speaking of which, do people who think money can buy anything really exist in the real world? I thought such people only existed as villains in certain novels."
Mulling this over, Silas arrived at the entrance of the police station.
The two giant steel robots at the entrance were still patrolling vigilantly, steam constantly puffing from their backs, giving a strong sense of security.
Pushing open the main door of the police station and walking in, he happened to see Roland passing by, holding a cup of coffee, a thoughtful expression on her face.
"Hey! Beautiful lady!" Silas said with a smile.
Roland was taken aback upon hearing Silas's voice. Turning her head and seeing Silas, her thoughtful face instantly broke into a happy smile. "Well, well, well! Look who's back!"
Her voice was quite loud, and the other police officers around all heard it.
"Silas? You've recovered really quickly!"
"Long time no see! How's your recovery?"
"What's blood therapy really like? It's truly amazing!"
"Huh? This dog is so interesting. Is it yours?"
Amidst the enthusiastic and chattering inquiries, Silas fully felt the warmth and concern of these people.
A group of people surrounded Silas as he walked into the office area. Silas recounted some irrelevant parts of his experience and then focused on introducing the Husky.
After listening to Silas's introduction, all the police officers were captivated by this large dog, full of spirit, able to understand human speech, and with a divine appearance.
The Husky was very happy to attract so much attention but, under Silas's instruction, didn't show too much, merely displaying its obedience and spiritual connection.
"Haha! Your dog… haha! I don't know why, but I just want to laugh when I see it." Jack, who had been busy with something, walked over. Looking at the Husky, which now had its ears perked up and its eyes wide, he couldn't help but laugh as he spoke.
Silas smiled. "Lupo's expressions are indeed richer than those of ordinary dogs. Sometimes it looks a bit silly, which makes people want to laugh."
Jack put down the documents in his hand, walked over, and patted Silas's shoulder. "Not bad, you've recovered very well!"
Silas sighed. "Indeed. But I didn't suffer any less. Potions are something I never want to drink a second time in my life."
The others fell silent upon hearing this, and the atmosphere suddenly became somewhat solemn.
Silas quickly changed the subject. "By the way, what was the follow-up on that ghost ship? I fainted right after I reported the information to Master Jeros."
Roland said, "After all the evidence was preserved, the entire ship was completely burned by fire to prevent any other accidents. The bodies you purified were buried after autopsy and reporting, with Bishop Ron personally presiding. Sketches and information of the relevant personnel have been telegraphed to the Imperial Capital, awaiting verification there."
Jack squatted down, gently stroking the Husky's glossy black fur. "That incident was classified as an isolated event that didn't originate here. It merely passed through our hands and has now been handed over to the Imperial Maritime Police. It no longer has anything to do with us here."
Silas nodded upon hearing this, then asked curiously, "After that, did nothing else happen in the city?"
Jack said casually, "No. Since the lockdown, public order in the entire city has been very good. Although this incident was quite tragic, it had nothing to do with the locals, and not many people paid attention to it. It didn't affect the citizens' lives."
Silas didn't ask further. When he turned his head, he found Roland had once again fallen into deep thought.
"You seem to have something on your mind?" Silas asked curiously.
Jack smiled. "Her wedding date has been set. It's just two months away. This beautiful lady is probably thinking about how to use her short wedding leave to enjoy more romance."
Roland grunted after hearing this. "It's no use even if you're envious, old bachelor!"
"Congratulations, congratulations!" Silas said, while thinking to himself, "I hope this world doesn't have the custom of giving gifts when colleagues get married. My finances are already very tight."
Today, Silas was still on paid leave due to his work-related injury, so there were no strict work requirements.
After taking Lupo for a walk around, introducing him to his colleagues, and then reporting to Orson Heath that he could return to work tomorrow, he left the police station and prepared to go home.
After passing a street corner, Silas saw an acquaintance waiting for him with a smile.
"Long time no see, Your Excellency, Hero Priest." The speaker was Bart, his Belantish accent perfect.
Silas's lips curled into a smile. "Mr. Bart's learning ability is truly astonishing. To master Belantish so authentically in just three days."
Bart knew Silas was sarcastically pointing out his lie and said with a wry smile, "To express my apologies, I can offer you a very crucial piece of intelligence."
Silas asked, unmoved, "Are you sure it's intelligence that is crucial to me?"
Bart, equally unfazed, said, "Yes, it even threatens your personal safety."
"Then, will it also threaten the security and reputation of your esteemed organization?"
"It won't have a major impact on our organization, but it will affect your entire city."
…
Neither of them seemed to want the other to think they desperately needed them. They tried to persuade each other from various angles, hoping the other would say: I need your help now.
Silas currently had a huge advantage, but because he indeed lacked significant negotiation skills, he was eventually persuaded by Bart. The two once again arrived at the coffee shop effectively controlled by the Green Flame Brotherhood.
In the elegant and exquisite private room, the two sat opposite each other as before.
"I'm very curious about what your profession is. You clearly came to ask for my help, so how did it end up with me hoping more for you to help me?" Silas took a sip of coffee, feeling both strange and very unwilling.
Bart said with a smug expression, "Please allow me to keep this a secret for now. When our cooperation reaches a certain level, I will inform you."
Silas didn't dwell too much on this aspect and changed the subject. "Then, Mr. Bart, let's talk about serious matters. What exactly is this important intelligence you mentioned."
At the mention of this, a grave expression flashed across Bart's face. "According to my intelligence, the true culprits on that ship were not the Twin Alliance, but the Green Flame Brotherhood disguised as the Twin Alliance."
!!!
Silas was shocked upon hearing this. It instantly reminded him of what Bart had told him a few days ago – that group of madmen was planning something big.
"What exactly do they want to do?" Silas asked in a low voice.
Bart said with a serious expression, "I can't tell you in too much detail. I can only say that they intend to summon the Primordial Flame."
