Chapter 101: The Abandoned Mystical Workshop

The Church of Holy Blood library was enormous, a full forty meters high from the ground to the dome. The space was cylindrical, with an internal diameter of at least fifty meters.

In the vast space, neat bookshelves were arranged around the perimeter, filled to the brim with books.

These books, new and old, large and small, were currently neatly arranged by category, making them very pleasant to look at.

In the middle of the space was a large pillar that reached straight to the dome. Around the pillar was a wide, spiral staircase.

The staircase wound upwards, extending out about thirty suspended steel gangways that led to suspended corridors in front of the bookshelves high in the air.

Silas looked up and saw this scene, and was instantly shocked.

Staring wide-eyed at this complex and exquisite library, Silas marveled, "Truly a work of gods!"

Anthony smiled. "This is not just a library. The pillar in the middle is a huge mechanism. In case of danger, it can be directly rotated to send the people on it to the dome at the top, while simultaneously disconnecting the lower stairs to prevent things from below from coming up."

"Things!" Hearing this word, Silas's heart stirred.

"It seems this defensive measure is not meant for people."

At this moment, there were quite a few people in the library, appearing to be twenty or thirty. Most of them were medical personnel in white coats; the rest were clergymen in cassocks.

"From now on, you can freely enter and exit here twenty-four hours a day. No one has the right to stop you from reading books here," Anthony said.

Silas withdrew his gaze, temporarily suppressing the desire in his heart, and said, "Where are we going next?"

"First, let's familiarize ourselves with the entire church's layout and some landmark buildings. They can help you get lost as little as possible. Then, I'll take you to the logistics department to collect and register your equipment, to the finance department to fill out your salary account and collect your previous salary as a detective. Of course, you can also advance half a month's salary to solve any urgent needs. Finally, we'll go to the fighting arena for registration; in the future, you will need to undergo high-intensity combat training or marksmanship training. Lastly, we'll go to your future office area, and the introduction will be complete."

Silas nodded. "Then I'll have to trouble you."

After leaving the library, the two wound their way to a three-story building in the backyard of the main cathedral.

This building was indeed a certain one, because Silas was already completely lost.

This was the logistics department. Walking in, there was a large hall. There were very few people inside, only two middle-aged nuns bowing their heads and organizing something.

After the two arrived, they didn't say much. After registering, Silas received two silver-grey briefcases containing related equipment. Overall, there wasn't much difference from the previous briefcase, just an upgrade in terms of the clothes for his identity, tokens, pendants, weapons, and so on.

After leaving here, the two followed the direction of the sun, bypassed three small squares, and arrived at a two-story building.

The layout here was somewhat like a bank. There were counters all around, with iron bars in the middle, and only one small window.

The nun working inside had already received instructions and skillfully handled the relevant registration and information recording with Silas. At the same time, she very generously gave Silas half a month's salary as a detective, as well as the half-month's salary Silas requested as an advance, totaling: 28 Crowns.

Silas smiled and put the wad of cash in his pocket, looking like a child who had just eaten candy, his smile very radiant.

After leaving here, the two continued to follow the direction of the sun for about ten minutes and arrived at a prototype building that looked like a small stadium.

The building looked like a flat, prototype large pancake, with three floors. It was entirely built of sturdy bluestone, very solid.

"This is the training ground. You can work out here, practice shooting, combat, and other related skills," Anthony said, preparing to lead Silas in.

Silas looked up at the time and smiled. "Since I know the location, I'll come by myself when I have time another day. I'd rather familiarize myself with my future work area sooner."

"Haha, alright. As long as you hold your identity card, you can conduct all training here for free at any time," Anthony said, then turned and led Silas back along the road.

"Your work area is near the east gate of the Church of Holy Blood, relatively close to the Holy Blood Library." Following the winding road, the two passed through four more small squares and five stone archways before arriving in front of a small chapel.

This chapel was small and quaint, built entirely of grey stone. It looked to be only three stories high, and including the spire at the top, it was only about ten meters tall.

The small chapel had only one small main entrance, and there were only six windows on the front.

Anthony took out a black key full of complex patterns and grooves, inserted it into the main gate, and the ironwood gate opened silently.

"This is the mystical workshop where generations of Purple Moon Agents have worked. Since many Purple Moon Agents have an interest in researching technology and mysticism, they need sufficient instruments and space for related experiments and practice."

Silas followed him in and first saw a very spacious hall.

Neat workbenches around the hall were covered with drapes, giving a sense of age amidst the emptiness.

"This place has been abandoned for two years, and no one has used it. The instruments and related items inside have been moved away, leaving only ordinary furniture. If you need any instruments, you can apply to the Church. They can usually be delivered the next day," Anthony sighed with some emotion.

Silas nodded and walked in through a side door to take a look. The first floor had a total of five rooms, and the second floor had four rooms. The area of a single floor was about three hundred pyeong.

Although abandoned, the overall facilities were very comprehensive. If it weren't for its chapel appearance, it could be called an exquisite small villa.

"This key is for you. Don't lose it," Father Anthony said, handing over the key.

Silas took the key and said seriously, "I will not disappoint the expectations of the Bishop and Master Jeros."

"That's for the best. We need you very much now!" Anthony said seriously.

After touring around, the two left.

Next, Anthony gave Silas a map and, following the map, introduced him to related buildings and commonly used routes.

At the same time, he mobilized three nuns to clean the small chapel again and prepare daily necessities.

By the time Silas had familiarized himself with everything, it was already five-thirty in the evening.

Wearing a handsome priest's robe, Silas held the key and walked out of the main gate of the Church of Holy Blood. He turned to look at the magnificent church and said with emotion, "Finally, things are on the right track."

Leaving Holy Blood Square, Silas, preparing to go home, saw Randall looking at him with a smile as he turned the street corner.

Silas walked over with a smile and asked, "How is everything?"

Randall nodded. "Very good. Helles and Bernice woke up at noon, and their bodies have fully recovered. We then bid farewell to Bart and moved to an apartment near your home."

Silas nodded with satisfaction. Randall asked tentatively, "Do you have time now? Adeline and I have something we need to discuss with you."

"Yes, let's go!"
