Chapter 3: Unexpected Connections
Lindsay navigated the crowded cafeteria, searching for a place to sit. She spotted an empty table and made her way towards it. As she sat down, a girl with bright pine hair and a warm smile approached her.
"Hey, I'm Sophia! I've i you around, but we haven't met yet," Sophia said, extending her hand. Lindsay shook it, and Sophia continued, "I love your style! That jacket is amazing."
Lindsay smiled, feeling a connection. "Thanks! I'm Lindsay."
Just then, a boy with messy brown hair and a charming grin joined them. "Hey, Sophia! Who's your new friend?"
"This is Lindsay," Sophia replied. "Lindsay, this is Alex."
As they chatted, Lindsay noticed Dominic sitting across the room, his piercing blue eyes fixed on her. She felt a flutter in her chest, but when their eyes met, he quickly looked away. Again.
Sophia noticed Lindsay's gaze and followed it to Dominic. "Oh, that's Dominic. He's... intense," Sophia whispered. "But gorgeous, right?"
Lindsay nodded, unable to deny it. Dominic's chiseled features, sharp jawline, and full lips made him breathtakingly handsome. His dark hair fell across his forehead, and his eyes seemed to see right through her.
As the days passed, Lindsay found herself looking for Dominic, their eyes meeting in the hallways, but he always ignored her. She couldn't help but wonder why he seemed so distant.
At lunch, Sophia and Alex introduced Lindsay to their friends, Jake and Emily. They welcomed her with open arms, and for the first time, Lindsay felt like she belonged.
But her gaze always drifted to Dominic, who sat alone, his eyes fixed on his book. She couldn't resist the urge to look at him, to try and understand the enigmatic boy who seemed to be hiding secrets.
