Betrayal

"You shouldn't have meddled in our work, Ishar. It's heartbreaking to see young talent like yours, be wasted so carelessly. But even so. We can't let any hindrances affect the ultimate mission."

Aarush looked up, his eyes twinkling slightly.

"Goodbye, Ishar."

And just like that, in the blink of an eye, the door slammed shut, leaving Ishar standing there in the dark, utterly shocked and dumbfounded.

What the hell had just happened?

For the first 3 seconds, Ishar stood there, in the dark storage room, processing the fact that his beloved General, or whoever that person was, had just ghosted him in a storage room, while speaking in a very weird way. How could he even do that? Ishar had considered him to be a father-figure and he was certain that a person like that won't just betray you.

That wasn't the General. Well, not the General he knew. And what mission was he talking about?

Then, after two seconds, Ishar finally got some sense, and turned on the flashlight of his phone. He walked towards the door and turned the knob. It was locked. The room was locked, and Ishar was inside it.

He took a mop and slammed the doorknob. Much to his dismay, the door was stronger than it seemed, and held its stance very admirably.

He did everything he possibly could, attacked it with a crowbar, used a random hammer he found (the hammer broke), slammed a vase at the door, slammed himself on the door, but it still didn't work.

Ishar sighed.

What was he going to do now? He couldn't even communicate with others, the room seemed to have signal jammers in every corner, something which greatly irritated him. Not to mention he was already very furious, and very confused at the earlier incident.

He paced around the room some more, trying to think of something- anything, that would help him escape. It was obvious that there were guards stationed outside the door, so he had to find another escape route…soon.

Ishar was still pacing around when he spotted a piece of paper with a line drawn upon it.

This reminded him of a plan, like the blueprints architects use when creating a building.

That reminded him of the blueprints of the military facility. Now, the following fact was a complete and utter secret.

Unknown to anyone, not even Pratap, Ishar had told the architect responsible for creating the military facility, to dig another tunnel, just outside the east wing of the base, for 'water resources'.

As it turned out, the architect was on Ishar's most hated list (due to inexplicable reasons), and at that time, it seemed to be fun to tell your enemy some work, which they HAD to do.

Yes, it was very childish and immature, but that architect wasn't exactly your definition of 'mature' either.

So, seeing as there is a tunnel under the east wing of the military facility, and the storage room was literally sitting on top of it, Ishar did the most obvious thing.
