In Three Days

Ishar nearly choked on his spit. "Three days?! That isn't a lot of time. In case our plan fails to work, we won't even have missiles or bombs to save us. They will melt before they even reach it!"

Dr.Tanvir took a deep breath and spoke in a gentle voice,

"I know it's not enough, but look at the situation we are currently in. A team of some strong people fighting an enemy most people don't even know exist. We have to take our chances. We have to take our risks."

Ishar groaned but consoled himself, "But, the satellite is…'remote-controlled' you can say. How will we monitor it and control it, if it's with the headquarters?"

Surprisingly, Dr.Tanvir chuckled and said in a humored voice, "Come on Ishar. You didn't think I thought about that? Tomorrow, you can leave for Shimla Science Centre, in H.P. We will connect your satellite program to a computer over there, so you can control it from that base.

Oh yes, I almost forgot, it's stationed beneath the floors, so you will need to press '1-9-8-0-4' on the telephone inside the elevator.

You will be taken to where Anjani, Gargi and other scientists are working on the astras, and I'm sure that all of you will be able to cooperate better when together."

Ishar beamed. He was sure that if they were in person, and not on a call, he would have hugged the scientist out of gratitude. Also, Himachal was not far from Kashmir. By train itself, the journey would take 3-5 hours. It would be 45 mins from the top by an airplane.

"Sure Dr. Tanvir. Thank you so much for your help."

Dr.Tanvir chuckled and said,

"Anything for the soldiers of my country."

Ishar smiled and exited the room, grinning widely. Pratap, Naren, Aniket and Karan looked up at him hopefully.

"So?" Pratap asked, "has he turned into an alien slave by now?"

Ishar looked at him with an unimpressed face. "No Pratap, on the contrary, I told him about all our plans, and he said that it would take 3 days, at the minimum, to get the device to ISRO HQ. That too, only if we send it there by post, tonight."

Pratap let out a deep breath, but then held up a charming smile. "No harm done. Let's do it. Did he say anything else?"

Ishar nodded. "We have to go to Shimla Science Camp, in H.P, so we can control the device from there and co-operate with Gargi and Anjani in their work. Remember, if this plan fails, then nothing will work. The astras are mandatory."

Pratap nodded. He got up and wrapped the small device carefully into a box, putting enough newspaper to wrap a dinosaur. He had barely opened the door when Moti yapped excitedly.

"Ah!"

Ishar was jerked from his terrifying thoughts about the aliens. Then he looked at Moti and Pratap, and rolled his eyes.

"How are you going to fight aliens if you are scared of such a sweet dog?" Aniket said, smirking.

Pratap glared at him and exited the room to post the parcel.
