Ishar glared at them, feeling absolutely repelled and disgusted. He rummaged through his bag as fast as he could, and took out a gun.
He looked up and narrowed his eyes. With elegant expertise, he shot all of them down, dodging their attacks as long tentacles and spiny hands came his way. He punched and kicked, the long bones cracking with a sickening crunch.
With only one wound, or maybe 3, or maybe 7 painful wounds, Ishar staggered into the doorway of the power room. The blazing light from inside almost blinded his eyes. Just as he was about to enter, something grabbed Ishar's leg. The next thing he knew, he was thrown against the opposite wall. He groaned and looked up, painfully.
The bullet holes inside the aliens were closing up completely, leaving nothing but skin. So, the aliens had healing powers. The day just got better.
Ishar's eyes widened at the sight of them. He rushed inside the room, slamming the heavy door behind him and locking it. The loud thumps outside indicated that the aliens were trying to knock down the door.
Ishar glanced at the control panels through the connected window of the room. They were reaching Earth's outer atmosphere…perfect to blow up the ship. He looked at his watch. 20 minutes. He had to act fast. He whipped out Missile-0., and attached it to the green pipe near one of the stars. He looked solemnly at the buttons and pressed the green one. Frantically, Ishar checked the room for something…anything to be able to escape. He had just ten minutes to get off the spaceship.
"Naren!" Ishar whispered, "Be ready to receive me!"
He heard a hum of affirmation. After searching the room thoroughly, (since he didn't have the drone to help him), Isahr spotted a small tunnel, a bit below the normal floor. Upon further inspection, he realized that it was connected to the tunnel that led outside!
Unable to hide his relief, Ishar jumped inside the tunnel, overwhelmed with emotions. Only after a second, did he feel himself lifted up and thrown back inside the power room.
"What the-?"
"Did you really think you could run away? There are only 20 minutes left. 20 minutes. And you still haven't returned our dimanium. Not that it is a surprise, I always knew you couldn't do something that clever. Now, after 20 minutes, we will just get our dimanium ourselves."
The alien form of Dr.Tanvir loomed over Ishar, grinning cruelly.
10 minutes.
That was all he needed to stall the alien.
Ishar made a quick decision. He couldn't forget that he had to save General Aarush Verma as well, and then get himself out of the ship. He looked up confidently at Dr. Tanvir, raising one leg back and posing his hands, ready to strike. He looked at the smirking aliens dead in the eyes.
Then, at the climax of the moment, Ishar raised his right leg and ran as fast as he could out of the power room, slamming the door behind him. The alien stood there for a moment, wondering what had just happened.
Using the distraction as a lifeline, Ishar ran into the corridor surrounded by cages, and slammed the General's door, wondering how to get it to open. After looking around for some time (more like 5 seconds), he spotted a large red button beside a thick wire, which he hadn't seen before.
By instinct, Ishar pressed the button. With a loud rumble, the thick door began to slide open, and Aarush stumbled out of it.
"How did-? What happened-?"
"Listen", Ishar said urgently, "Go down the corridor and take a right. Upon walking down further, you will see a small crack in the ship. Naren will be waiting for you. Go. Quick!"
Ishar pushed the General in that corridor before he could reply. The footsteps of the alien were getting closer and closer. Ishar looked at his watch- 2 minutes before Missile-0 blasted. That's when he realized something.
Something heartbreaking.
He didn't have enough time to get off the ship before it blew up.
