Chapter 86

I sat in the chemistry lab, trying to focus on the teacher's lecture about chemical reactions, but my mind kept drifting away. It was as if my brain had developed a filter, allowing only snippets of information to seep in. Suddenly, my phone buzzed in my pocket, breaking the monotony. I pulled it out and checked the message from Racy: "Aren't you done yet?" I quickly typed a response: "Not yet, almost." After hitting send, I tucked the phone back into my pocket and attempted to refocus on the lesson.
Before long, the bell rang, signaling the end of the class. "That's all for today," the teacher announced, and the students began packing up their belongings. I followed suit, gathering my things.I went outside and I sighted racy..
I approached her, "Racy, don't you have anything better to do?" She grinned mischievously and replied, "Well, I'm like your guardian angel right now." I shook my head, chuckling at her antics.
" The park is calling our names," Racy said, her voice bubbling with excitement. I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her sudden enthusiasm. "The park?" I repeated, my gaze meeting hers. Racy nodded, a radiant smile spreading across her face. "Yes, the park! It's just a short walk from here."
I tilted my head, curiosity getting the better of me. "I know it's close, but what's behind this sudden urge to visit the park?" I asked, my voice laced with playful skepticism. Racy's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Well, I heard they have a new flavor of ice cream, that's to die for. We absolutely have to try it."
I chuckled, charmed by her infectious energy. "Okay, fine," I said finally. "But just for the ice cream, and only if you promise not to drag me on any wild adventures."
Racy grinned, her smile still in place. "Scout's honor," she said, holding up her hand in a mock promise. "I'll escort you to your room, and then we'll head out for our ice cream treat."

As I emerged into the warm sunlight with Racy by my side, the fresh air and gentle breeze invigorated my senses. I had changed into a simple yet comfortable outfit - a pair of jeans, a plain white top, and a baseball cap to top it off. Racy's eyes sparkled with curiosity as she fell into step beside me.
"So, where did you vanish to earlier?" she asked, her voice tinged with a mixture of concern and intrigue. I hesitated, my mind racing for a suitable response. The truth was, I didn't feel like delving into the details of my encounter with Hyun Min. Not yet, at least.
"Let's not talk about this, Racy," I said, attempting to deflect her question with a casual tone. But Racy's gaze lingered on mine, her eyes probing the depths of my thoughts.
As we finally escaped the school's confines, Racy and I made our way to the park, eager to unwind and have some fun. We strolled through the gates, the vibrant colors of the park's attractions and lush greenery instantly lifting our spirits. The sweet aroma of ice cream wafted through the air, and we couldn't resist treating ourselves to a couple of cones.
The ice cream was heavenly, and we savored every bite, enjoying the warm sunshine and gentle breeze. It was really, really fun.
"Hey, let's play some games!" she suggested, her voice bubbling with excitement. "The park has some awesome arcade games and rides. We can have a blast!"
I grinned, already imagining the fun we'd have. "Sounds like a plan to me!" I exclaimed, and we set off to explore the park's entertainment options.
As we walked through the park, we stumbled upon an arcade filled with all sorts of games. Racy's eyes lit up, and she grabbed my arm, pulling me towards a racing game. "Let's do a race!" she exclaimed, already taking her seat in front of the screen.
I sat down beside her, and we both grasped the steering wheels, ready to speed off into the virtual world. The game started, and we were off, our cars zooming around the track. Racy was a natural, expertly navigating the turns and accelerating down the straights. I, on the other hand, was struggling to keep up, my car veering off course more often than not.
When the game ended, Racy let out a triumphant whoop. "I won!" she shouted, grinning from ear to ear.
I chuckled, shaking my head. "You won because I'm bad at this," I joked, laughing.
Next, we decided to try out a VR game that looked incredibly realistic. We put on the headsets and grabbed the controllers, immersing ourselves in a thrilling adventure. The game was a horror theme, and we were navigating through a creepy mansion, trying to escape the clutches of a terrifying monster.
As we played, we screamed our lungs out, jumping out of our seats whenever the monster appeared on screen. The graphics were so realistic that it felt like we were actually inside the game. Racy clutched my arm, her eyes wide with fear. "Ahh! It's coming for us!" she shouted, as the monster lunged at us on screen.
I screamed, laughing, and we both frantically tried to escape the mansion, our hearts racing with excitement. It was an exhilarating experience, and we were both grinning from ear to ear when we finally emerged from the game.
---- As we continued our fun-filled afternoon at the arcade, Racy and I stumbled upon a claw machine filled with adorable teddy bears. We exchanged excited glances, and without a word, we knew what we had to do – try to win one of those cute bears.
I inserted a coin, carefully maneuvered the claw, and attempted to grasp a particularly plush teddy bear. The claw closed, and I held my breath as it lifted the bear... only to drop it moments later. The bear fell back into the pile, and I groaned in disappointment.
"Your turn, Racy!" I said, stepping aside.
Racy inserted a coin and expertly maneuvered the claw. She positioned it perfectly over a bear, and with a confident smile, she pressed the button. The claw closed, grasped the bear, and lifted it out of the machine. Racy cheered as the bear was dispensed into the collection bin.
I stared at her in amazement, then looked at the machine, feeling a bit frustrated. "Why am I so bad at this?" I asked, shaking my head.
Racy chuckled and handed me the teddy bear she had won. "Practice makes perfect," she said with a smile, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
I took the bear, hugging it tightly. "I guess I'll just have to keep practicing," I said, grinning.
Racy nodded, her smile encouraging. "That's the spirit! Who knows, maybe one day you'll be the claw machine champion."
I laughed, feeling a bit more determined to master the art of winning stuffed animals from claw machines.
As the day's final whispers began to fade, I stole a glance at my phone, the screen illuminating the fading light. The numbers glowed 5:06, a gentle reminder that time was slipping away. The sun, now a burning ember on the horizon, cast a warm orange glow over the park, as if reluctant to surrender to the approaching night. Racy's eyes met mine, and she nodded in silent understanding.
"Let's head back," she suggested, her voice barely above a whisper, and we began our leisurely stroll back to campus. The evening air was alive with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the melodic chirping of birds, their songs intertwining with the soft rustle of leaves.
