chapter 94;SNORING SAGA

Chapter 94

As I woke up,in the middle of the night, I was greeted by a cacophony of sounds that could only be described as a symphony of snores. Racy, my unexpected sleep companion, was snoring like a chainsaw, her nasal passages vibrating with each labored breath. I winced, covering my ears in a futile attempt to block out the noise. Why had I agreed to let her stay over? I thought, recalling my initial hesitation. My love for privacy had always been a defining trait, and now, I was regretting my decision.

The snoring grew louder, and I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. Who snores like a pig?! I wondered.. As I watched her sleep, her face scrunched up in concentration, I couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and annoyance.

I couldn't take it anymore. Racy's snoring was like a chainsaw, cutting through the silence of the night and piercing my eardrums. I felt like I was going crazy, my frustration simmering just below the surface. And if the snoring wasn't enough, her sleeping posture was a mess, arms and legs sprawled out in every direction, invading my personal space.

Why had I agreed to let her sleep in my room? I racked my brain, trying to remember the reasoning behind my decision. Had I been out of my mind? I glared at her peaceful face, her features serene despite the cacophony emanating from her nostrils.

In a moment of desperation, I stood up and reached for a cotton wool. I gently fixed it into her nose, hoping it would somehow magically alleviate the snoring. Racy sniffed it out, still fast asleep, and scratched her head before turning to the other side. The snoring stopped,I felt a slight sense of relief, knowing I'd tried something.

As I stood there, watching her sleep, I couldn't help but wonder what other surprises the night might hold. Would she start snoring again?

As I tried to drift back to sleep, the snoring resumed, its relentless drone like a mosquito buzzing in my ear. My patience snapped. I reached out and tapped her, a bit more forcefully than I intended. "Racy, Racy," I whispered urgently, trying to rouse her from her slumber.

But she just murmured incoherently and rolled over, the snoring continuing unabated. My frustration boiled over. I strode into the bathroom, scooped up a handful of water, and poured it over her. She sat up with a start, her eyes snapping open as she spluttered, "Sarah, what was that for?!"

I stood over her, my voice firm and serious laced with a hint of fustration "Racy, get out of my room now." The sleep cleared from her eyes as she took in my expression, and she seemed to realize I was angry.

She gazed at me, perplexity furrowing her brow, and inquired, "What's gotten into you all of a sudden?" I retorted, "Are you aware of the snores you're producing while you sleep?" Her response was swift: "I don't snore."

I arched an eyebrow, incredulity creeping into my tone. "Really? You don't snoreee?" I said, my voice laced with doubt. "You're certain you're not snoring, right?" I whipped out my phone and played the recording, the sound of her snoring resonating through the room. Her expression morphed from denial to defensiveness as she protested, "That's not even me!"

I halted the recording and fixed her with a level stare, my voice even but firm. "Believe it or not,Your snoring was disrupting my sleep, and I'm not obligated to accommodate your nocturnal habits."

She proposed, "If you're having trouble sleeping, perhaps you could use earplugs or headphones?"

I countered, "Who in their right mind uses headphones to sleep? That's just absurd. Music blasting in your ears? That's not a viable solution."

She relented, "Alright, alright. I'm sorry. I'll make an effort to keep it down."

I persisted, "I have a class to attend by 8:30. If I don't get some rest, do you expect me to nod off in class?" She said looking at me, "I'm sorry, okay. It won't happen again."

She settled back into bed, and I thought the issue was resolved, but it didn't take long for the snoring to resume. I didn't react; instead, I reached for my headphones and put them on, trying to drown out the noise with music. However, I soon realized that sleeping with headphones wasn't as easy as I'd thought. The pressure, the discomfort, and the sound leakage made it impossible for me to drift off.

I removed the headphones, sat up, and gazed at her, letting her snore away. I was resolute, my eyes fixed on her peaceful face... Tomorrow evening, she'd likely come knocking on my door, asking to crash at my room again, but I'd have a firm answer ready: never again. I was determined to make sure she understood that her snoring wasn't something I was willing to tolerate.

*morning*

The morning sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. Racy stirred, slowly coming to life as she sat up in Sarah's bed. She stretched her arms, arching her back in a languid motion, and looked around the room. But Sarah was nowhere to be found, leaving Racy to wonder if she'd overslept.

A note on the bedside table caught her eye, and Racy reached for it, her fingers brushing against the paper. The scribbled message read: "Gone for class. Wake up when you feel like it. Safeguard my key like your life depends on it."

Racy's eyes widened as she checked the time, and her heart skipped a beat. Almost 9! She panicked, scrambling out of bed as she realized she had English class that morning. She rushed to the bathroom, her mind racing with the thought of being late. She'd have to hurry and get changed in her dorm room to change, hoping to make it to class before the professor took roll call.
