Chapter 63 Bodies

The sky was silent, bathed in moonlight. Rin hovered high above in the dark, his black armor gleaming faintly like a star. His wings barely moved, and yet he remained still in the air, a silent predator watching prey beneath.

Below, the four assassins followed the flying noble's car discreetly, waiting for it to leave the crowded district. Once it crossed into the outer flatlands near the cliffs, their patience snapped. The leading assassin, flying, extended his hand, and with a surge of crimson force, the car was ripped from the air and thrown into the rocky ground with a thunderous crash.

Metal screeched. Dust billowed. The vehicle rolled twice before skidding to a halt.

From the wreckage emerged a middle-aged man, shielding a trembling woman and two children. Blood trickled down his temple, but his voice carried authority. "Do you know who I am? You're making a mistake. Turn back while you can."

One of the assassins sneered. "Oh, we know who you are. A traitor. A mutt. A noble lapdog pretending to be important."

The leader landed beside the other three, his expression grim. "Enough talk. Take them."

But before the command could be executed, before a single step was taken, the ground ignited.

A towering pillar of black fire erupted from the heavens, slamming into the center of the group like the wrath of a forgotten demon. The heat melted stone and warped the air with screams.

Two of the four assassins were instantly vaporized, reduced to nothing but dust and ash, their deaths silent and sudden. The leader reacted fast, shielding the last survivor with a blast of energy, but even so, both were hurled back, their bodies scorched and their skin blistered.

A cold voice echoed above the flames.

"You could've avoided this… Why protect the weak?"

From the smoke descended a figure.

Clad in full black armor, his face hidden, long silver-white hair trailing behind him like silk, Rin landed in front of the noble family. His wings, radiant and massive, extended behind him like blades of judgment. The noble behind him trembled in awe.

"please help us sir."

"Stay back," Rin said without looking. His voice was calm. Sharp. "Capture the injured one. He won't get far."

"Yes, sir!"

This man knew immediately that rin was a powerful individual on Varros and rin side.

The noble rushed forward to restrain the barely conscious assassin, dragging him away. But the leader saw and made his move.

He darted toward the retreating noble, desperate, fury blazing in his eyes.

But Rin was already in motion.

He appeared in front of the leader like a ghost, his body bursting forward with explosive force. One brutal kick to the chest sent the man hurtling through the air like a ragdoll, smashing into a jagged rock outcrop. He coughed blood, staggering to his feet.

"You dare ignore me?" Rin asked, stepping forward.

The man growled. "You think a little royalty makes you invincible?"

The man knew immediately who rin was because few owned this armor.

Rin's eyes glowed beneath his helmet. "Dragon Brand."

A pulse of power rippled from his palm as a faint glowing mark appeared on the assassin's chest, black and red like a cursed sigil. The man gasped as a wave of crippling pain struck him. His legs buckled. His body trembled.

"W-What… is this!?"

"Trash." Rin whispered.

The assassin tried to retaliate, launching a flurry of slashes and bursts of raw energy. But Rin dodged them all with ease, weaving through the attacks like a phantom. His flames surged around him in coils of black heat.

Then Rin struck.

A burst of flame engulfed the assassin. The man screamed, his defenses crumbling. Rin closed the gap and drove his fist into the man's gut with monstrous force, shattering ribs and sending shockwaves through the air. The man collapsed, barely conscious, twitching under the dragon mark's continuous torment.

The noble returned, blood on his armor but triumphant.

"We've secured the second one, Your Highness! I... I can't believe it was really you."

Rin removed his helmet, revealing a sweatless face and a white eyes. "You and your family are safe now. Go. Take them somewhere secure."

The noble bowed so low he nearly kissed the dirt. "I will never forget this… Never. Thank you, my lord."

Rin didn't pay attention to this pathetic guy and turned away, his face unreadable. Behind him, the two assassins lay broken and twitching, pinned to the ground beneath his armored boots.

Rin thinking that this was too easy,he needed to be careful.

This could be Kaelion's plan.
