Elara Vance lives by one strict rule: never open your eyes to the nightmare. Yet, every morning, she breaks it. She's constantly bothered by a past she's desperate to forget. The email includes a grainy photo of a run-down playground, every surface stained an impossible, unsettling crimson. Just as she starts to grasp the terrifying implications, there's a knock at her door. It's Detective Miller, a gruff, bulldog-like cop convinced Elara knows more about a string of disappearances than she's letting on. The detective's bombshell about a locket — identical to her grandmother's, but strangely pristine and reeking of rust and blood — confirms Elara's worst fears: the game has begun, and she's already holding the first, deadly piece.
