Chapter 80: Arrested at the Gates of Lunaris

The towering cliffs of Lunaris rose like fangs piercing the sky, carved with glowing sigils and silver archways. Moonstone spires spiraled upward, and the gates shimmered with protective enchantments. The city of the beastkin, hidden from the world, was nothing short of breathtaking.

Shisui and Irylia emerged from the forest path, dirt-covered and battle-worn. The royal guards stationed at the gate immediately spotted the princess — and in the next breath, raised their weapons at Shisui.

"HALT! Step away from the princess!"

Before Shisui could speak, he was surrounded, blades drawn.

"Wait! He's the one who saved me!" Irylia cried out, running in front of him.

But the guards didn't listen. "He's an unknown foreigner armed and traveling alone with the princess after a massacre. He's coming with us."

Irylia tried to protest, but one of the guards gently restrained her. "Princess, your safety is our highest priority. Please trust us."

Shisui didn't resist as he was shackled and led into the depths of the city. The prison beneath Lunaris was cold, made of enchanted steel and silence. He sat calmly in the dim cell, meditating, unshaken.

Hours passed.

Then — footsteps. The same guards returned, this time with grim, ashamed expressions.

"Lord Shisui… we deeply apologize. The princess has clarified everything. Her testimony and the recovered scrolls with the sealed bodies confirmed your innocence and your valor."

They bowed deeply and unchained him. "Please, come with us. The royal family wishes to meet you."
