Chapter 2: subjects (rewritten)

Liam focused on the current situation.

My territory is still a mess; I needed basic resources like wood and stone to construct new buildings. But my talent is focused on military might.

He pondered which troops to summon.

 Suddenly, several system notifications appeared:

[Lord's Local Channel has been unlocked!]

[Trading Post unlocked!] Build a trading post to access it.

 [Friends List has been unlocked!]

Lord's Local Channel: A chat channel for lords to communicate with each other and also allow lords to chat privately.

Trading Post: A building that needs to be constructed to trade resources between lords

Friends List: You can add other lords as friends.

"A chat channel for lords? That must be how we communicate… And the marketplace trading could be vital. Rare resources like food could help me get more basic materials."

Liam opened the system prompt and navigated to the chat session.

Hello? Anyone there?

What is this place?

What in the world is this place?

Help me, someone! I'll give you as much money as you desire if you assist me! My family is rich!

What is this lord crap? Is this some prank?

Everyone, calm down. I work as a policeman. We'll resolve this shortly. Await the announcement from the government.

Police? Good! Help me first—my father is an official!

No, help me first! I'm an official!

After reading the chaotic messages, Liam sneered.

They still think this is some prank or kidnapping. They're not adapting at all.

He was already aware that a large number of them would not make it through the next few days.

Liam checked the total number of lords in the local chat:

[99,998 / 100,000]

Two fools had already died." Liam grinned.

Only those who can adapt quickly will survive.

After observing the Local Lord Chat Channel for a while, Liam had a rough idea of the situation.

"With the Trading Post, I can trade the meat obtained from hunting beasts for other basic resources. With this, I can utilize my talent to its fullest extent," Liam thought.

I only have 10 spots today. I need to carefully choose my troops. I think 2 scouts to explore and understand our surroundings, 4 warriors for short-range attack and defense, and 4 archers for long-range.

Soon, two female Scouts, wearing skin-tight leather armor, short hair, and cloth covering half of their faces, stepped out. Their eyes filled with caution and firmness .

Four warriors wearing leather armor, holding swords in their hands, and with wild and confident demeanors stepped out.

And lastly, four archers wearing leather armor, holding bows in their hands, and with sharp eyes that can identify changes from long distances stepped out.

They walked towards Liam with confident strides.

Arriving before Liam, their lord, they all got on one knee. "We greet the lord!" they said in unison.

As Liam watched them closely with excitement and an unknown feeling,

A system interface appeared, displaying the subject's stats.

[Name: Emma]

Class: Scout

rank: D

Skills: Cloak

Loyalty: 61

Cloak: A skill that can use nature to hide from enemies

"Can I also see stats of my subjects? "

[Ding!] master, Please note that if a subject's loyalty drops below 30, subjects may have thoughts of rebellion.

Liam frowned slightly. It looks like one needs to treat them well. Not that I planned to treat them like slaves anyway.

He turned to observe the other two types of soldiers.

[Name: Noah]

Class: Warrior

rank: D

Skills: Blade rush

Loyalty: 53

Blade Rush: Increases attack speed by 20%.

[Name: Henry]

Type: Soldier

Class: archer

rank: D

Skills: headshot

Loyalty: 59

Headshot: A skill that allows the user to increase the chance of a headshot by 30%.

Then Liam moved to the center of the group with determination.

"Welcome, all of you, to my territory," Liam announced.

"Thank you, my lord!" they said in unison. As the hope of a new home flickered in their eyes.
