(Geri POV)
I was standing by the park entrance, munching on a hotdog I'd bought from ROB, patiently waiting for Luna to arrive. A few minutes passed before a black van pulled up. Luna stepped out, looking slightly pissed. Moments later, an imp with a heart-shaped tattoo on his forehead climbed out of the driver's seat and followed her.
"Blitz, I swear to Satan, if you ruin this for me, I will literally kill you."
"Don't worry, Luny," he said with a cheeky grin. "I just wanna talk to the guy. No ulterior motives whatsoever."
They walked toward me, and I stood up to greet them.
"Hey, Luna. Who's the imp?"
"That imp is my... adoptive dad."
"Blitzo. The O is silent," he said proudly, grabbing my hand and shaking it with wild enthusiasm. Then, without warning, he climbed onto me and started bombarding me with questions.
"So! How long have you been hanging out with Luny, huh? You do anything dangerous?"
"Blitz!"
She smacked him off me and groaned in frustration.
"I'm so sorry about him. He can be really annoying sometimes."
"Hehe, it's alright. I've got two siblings I take care of, so I'm used to people being... a little extra."
"Anyway, what do you wanna do before you leave for Imp City?"
"Well, I was planning on hanging out with you—just the two of us—but Blitz here thought it'd be a good idea to tag along to make sure I didn't do anything 'too dangerous.'"
"And to make sure this big boy doesn't try anything with my wittle baby."
"Uhhhh..."
I laughed as they bickered. Deep down, I knew Luna loved her dad—she was just, what did Mom's manga call it again? Right, tsundere.
"It's fine, Luna. Your dad can come. I think it's nice that he wants to make sure you're safe."
Blitzo looked stunned for a moment but quickly returned to his usual chaotic self.
"Well aren't you just the textbook definition of perfect. I like him, Luny! Hey kid, after this why don't we have a heart-to-heart?"
"Like a talk?"
"Yeah! After we hang out, of course. Can't have my little Luna getting mad at me."
Luna looked like she was going to explode from sheer embarrassment, so before that could happen, I waved them along.
"Come on, follow me."
We walked the streets of Pentagram City until we reached the gates of Lulu World.
"Hey Geri, you sure this is the place?" Luna asked. "Looks like it's still under construction."
"Don't worry, my grandfather's already finished most of it. He's just tweaking a few rides and shows."
As we approached the gate, a guard stepped forward.
"Halt! Lulu World is currently under renovation. Please retur—"
"Hey."
The guard paused, then immediately stepped aside.
"Oh! Apologies, sir. Please, come in and enjoy."
He bowed with a smile.
"Thanks. And tell Grandpa thanks for letting me use this place."
"Of course, my Lord."
We entered and admired the park's layout.
"Yo, this place is nice. Your grandpa must be some big shot to get us in this easily. Right, Luny?"
"Yeah, I'm curious what kind of snacks they'll have," she added.
"Thanks. Grandpa hasn't had much to do since—Never mind."
We reached a large circus tent and stepped inside. Performers were practicing on stage.
"Welcome!"
Luna screamed as Blitzo pulled out a flintlock pistol.
"Welcome to the amazing Lulu's Circus! I'm Cain, your ringmaster, and I'd love to introduce you to the crew!"
"Here we have Jax, Ragatha, Gangle, Kinger, Zooble, and finally—Xddcc!"
"Cain! I told you, it's Pomni!"
"Oh right, sorry. Brain fart."
Luna looked visibly confused and left the tent. Blitzo followed after her.
"Wait! I haven't even shown you the screaming head yet!"
"Sorry, Cain. Guess they're not the right crowd," I said.
"Whatever. When Lulu World officially opens, we'll have all the kids we want."
I gave him a wary look but said nothing, slowly making my way outside to rejoin Luna.
"Wanna ride the rollercoaster instead?" I asked her.
"Yeah, that sounds fun."
"While you two go ride that instrument of death, I'll be heading back into the tent to… do things."
"Things?" Luna asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah! Things!" He ran back inside.
"Okay... So, ready to go?"
"Yeah. Blitz doesn't really do rides anyway."
So Luna and I spent the next few hours riding everything we could. She tried to act tough, but I caught her puking more than once after insisting she could "handle it."
Eventually, we returned to the same spot—only to find Blitzo tied up in ribbons and covered in bite marks.
"AHH! What the hell, Blitz?!"
"What? I was just having fun at the theme park!"
"Uhh..."
She turned to me.
"Hey Luny, why don't you wait by the van? I just wanna talk to pretty boy here."
"What? Ughhh. Fine. But you better hurry up." She looked at me. "Today was really fun. Just make sure Blitz doesn't annoy you to death."
I nodded, and she walked off toward the van.
Blitzo stepped closer, a sly smile on his face.
"Say, pretty boy... you dating Luny?"
"Um, no sir. Luna's just a good friend."
He squinted, clearly not convinced, but didn't push it.
"Well anyway—here."
He handed me a piece of paper. It had a badly drawn horse doodle and his name scribbled in barely legible writing.
"If you're ever lookin' for a job, call me."
"Of course."
"Alright, byeeee!"
He jogged off after Luna.
I looked down at the card again and considered it. I had no idea what they did... but I needed a job anyway.
