Totsuki Academy.
Hisako Arato cradled her head. It had been nearly two hours since Erina-sama disappeared, and today was the day of the crucial transfer exam review. The review was set to begin in an hour, yet Erina-sama still hadn't returned. She's such an idiot for being so easily 'deceived' by Erina-sama, Hisako thought bitterly.
The sound of shoes being removed echoed from the entrance.
Renz knew things weren't that simple when he woke up and found the [Life Simulator] still active. Hisako Arato's percentage would increase simply by knowing and interacting with her.
"This is my boyfriend," Erina stated simply.
In Renz's mind, the [Life Simulator]'s value for Erina, which was at 97%, immediately rose by one percentage point to 98%. All other individuals' values returned to 0.0001%. Although he didn't understand what had happened, Erina had done wonderfully! As someone who had played many games, Renz roughly understood the function of this feature.
Clearly, this was the [Life Simulator] outlining his timeline. As long as the current situation remained unchanged, the timeline would lead to Erina's ending. If any changes occurred during this process, the timeline's direction would also shift. Was there even a need to think further? Erina had given him four children, and he had inherited the Nakiri family's assets. Their future life was happy and fulfilling. Did this [Life Simulator] have any other purpose beyond warning him "not to cheat"? Even if it did, Renz would eliminate it.
A voice immediately startled Renz out of his thoughts.
"Your boyfriend?!!!" Hisako Arato exclaimed, this news a bombshell. "Does... does the Chief Director know about this?"
"Grandpa will find out sooner or later, right?" Erina mused. "But it's fine if he knows; he'll respect my choice."
"No, even if the Chief Director respects your choices, he wouldn't entrust you to a stranger, would he?" Hisako Arato retorted. "And shouldn't you get to know each other more before dating? Making such a decision so early isn't a good idea, is it?"
Darn it. Although she had lived with Renz for a long time in the future, for now, it was indeed their first meeting. In this situation, it seemed difficult to convince others to accept this relationship.
"Erina's just joking with you," Renz said with a smile, winking at Erina. This kind of thing couldn't be rushed. They had dated for three years before getting married. Even returning from the future to the present, they couldn't just skip over those three years of dating. More importantly, if the dating period was too short, would it affect the normal developmental sequence and cause changes in the future? From the [Life Simulator]'s indication, as long as things developed naturally, the future's direction wouldn't change, and Rina and Haruki would appear as a matter of course.
"Let's not talk so much nonsense for now, Erina-sama, there's a transfer exam review today!" Hisako Arato said anxiously, glancing at the time.
A transfer exam review? Did she have to bother her with such a minor matter? Instead of reviewing these students' cooking, she'd rather spend more time with Renz. However, Erina's personality had long since improved after so many years of living together, so she wouldn't lose her temper easily.
"Wait for me to change," Erina said, taking off her outdoor clothes.
"Eh? Are you just going to undress with an outsider here?" Hisako Arato immediately shielded Erina, acting like a guard. "Don't peek!"
Did he even need to peek? Renz still turned away, appropriately providing some cover.
Erina changed into a Totsuki standard uniform. Her fair legs were encased in glistening, sun-drenched knee-high socks. She tidied her hair.
"Renz, come with me to the review," Erina said.
Renz actually didn't particularly want to participate in this review. He had already reached the pinnacle of the culinary world in the future. He was a true chef. Reviewing transfer students at Totsuki Academy was like having a giant in a certain field go and critique elementary school students. It held no meaning.
"Stay with me a little longer," Erina said, standing in front of him.
"Okay," Renz surrendered immediately upon hearing that. In the future, when his relationship with Erina grew stronger, they often had less time together due to work. Frankly, there weren't many times they could just be together like this. Looking at the scene before him, Hisako Arato felt that they might really be in a relationship. Their every move, every smile, every interaction seemed to indicate they were accustomed to each other's presence.
Five minutes later, at the transfer exam review site, Erina and Renz walked in slowly, one after the other, as if strolling. Before entering, they had been chatting and laughing, but upon entering, their expressions simultaneously shifted, and a powerful aura erupted from both of them.
"Why is Erina the reviewer this time?!" Kiyohe Nikaido cried out in panic. "If I'm labeled 'incompetent' by the God's Tongue, my culinary career will be over!"
"Damn it, do we have to wait until next year again?"
"I'd rather wait until next year to take the exam than be labeled 'incompetent' by the God's Tongue!"
Without further ado, some had already chosen to give up, quietly leaving the examination hall.
"Are the students at Totsuki this year so bad?" Renz couldn't help but say. He had also served as the principal of Totsuki Academy for a while later on. He had seen people who were bad at cooking, but he had never seen anyone trying to run away before even starting to cook.
"Transfer students are like this; many are people trying to get in through the back door," Erina said, shaking her head. She walked to the ingredient area, held up an egg, "Using an egg as the ingredient, make your dish. Try your best to satisfy me. If you succeed, you'll pass the assessment."
"You're making it difficult for them," Renz said, washing his hands and picking up an egg. "You don't mind if I use the kitchen, do you?"
If he hadn't returned here, right now, Erina's work schedule would be over, and she'd be back home, with Renz preparing breakfast for her.
"It's been a long time since I cooked for you," Renz said with a hint of regret.
"Are you also a test-taker like me?" a spirited voice rang in Renz's ear. "I'm Soma Yukihira, and I'm also participating in this transfer student assessment!"
A name that would be famous in the future.
Oh, so Soma Yukihira entered Totsuki through the transfer student assessment?
"I'm not a test-taker. I just want to make Erina some breakfast," Renz said in a plain voice.

Thoughts on Renz's casual demeanor and Erina's reaction:
Renz's calm and confident attitude contrasts interestingly with the tense atmosphere of the transfer exam. His casual explanation — that he's just making breakfast for Erina — undercuts the pressure everyone else feels and highlights how his relationship with Erina is deeply familiar and comfortable, even in such a formal and competitive setting.
Erina's ease and willingness to bring Renz along, plus her relaxed banter with him, demonstrate how much trust and closeness they share. Their presence together projects a powerful but quietly confident aura, signaling their established bond. It also unsettles the other students, raising the stakes and elevating Erina's role from just a reviewer to someone who commands respect, backed by Renz's formidable presence.
Overall, it adds a nice layer of warmth and grounding to the story, balancing the high tension of the transfer exam with genuine personal connection.
