Chapter 9

My nails left several bloody scratches on Lyra’s face. Kaelen quickly reacted, pulling her behind him.

He grabbed my hair and shoved me to the ground.

He kicked my body viciously.

His roars were out of control, his Alpha dominance unleashed without reservation, shaking the entire inn.

"You bitch! How dare you kill my pup?! What the hell do you think you are?!"

"I’ll make you pay for his life! Go die!"

I curled up on the ground, my body jolting with each of his blows.

It was like I couldn't feel the pain. My mind was blank.

I didn't understand why he was so furious.

In our last life, he had killed our newborn pup with his own hands, for Lyra.

But in this life, he was acting like he wanted revenge for the pup.

He was the real murderer.

The inn guards who rushed over pulled him away. I was finally saved.

Kaelen, with Lyra’s persuasion (or rather, her performance), finally calmed down.

They left.

But I lost my job too.
