Chapter 55 - Triggering an Event

"So this is how it feels huh?" Malik asked himself after laying on the cabin which scan his body and set his body temperature to a lower degree because of the warmth in his body.

Malik after getting separated from Carita had walked down to a gaming center and had paid for 36 hours since he'll be using the Sunday to act as a Bodyguard of Carita.

"I feel energized and much more alive than before. I think now I should've no problem going toes to toes with a Silver tier monster." Malik reassured himself and after balancing himself well in the cabin, he pressed the 'Login' Function and the World around him turned white.

[Welcome back Player Man like Malik]

"...."

Malik was speechless as he heard the system message in his head." What's happening? When did the system started welcoming back players?"

Malik didn't think much about it though. 'It might be a new - in game function.' He thought and then walked out of his safe corner just to see that the four monsters that he saw earlier has been killed and being feast upon. Their body parts were scattered everywhere causing Malik body to tremble.

A monster that he considered strong was being reduced to this state by another monster. What will happen to him then if he faced such monster?

'No wonder the team couldn't even last a single strike.'

He turned around to leave just to see a monster blocking his pathway. The monster was 12 meters (39.4) feet talls and its sharp maws was almost touching the ground.

'They're two of them.' Malik enhanced senses spread wide as he noticed the monster behind him also.

Goremaw [Lv30 Silver Tier Boss]

HP: 50,000

Direbrinbare [Lv30 Silver Tier Boss]

HP: 50, 000

'It's a Boss and they seems to be working....'

The ground beneath Malik trembled as the two monsters charged at him. He quickly turned left and started running immediately not daring to linger around. He hasn't moved far from them when the earth around him tremble loudly as a loud banging sound was heard.

'The monsters. They were not ganging up against me instead they were actually facing each other. Two Boss monster fighting against each other, this will be where I luck out big." Malik quickly stood up to run to a safe corner when the ground around him quaked as two trees fell in his direction. He quickly activated the power of his skill boot, boosting his agility by 30% as he dashed away with all his might, retreating into a safe distance as the two monsters fought as if their lives were on the line.

A massive shockwave surged through the forest like a collapsing mountain. Malik stumbled back three steps, his eyes widening as tree after tree was uprooted like twigs. The whole region shook—birds scattered into the night, and the cries of distant monsters echoed in fear.

Before him stood chaos itself.

The Goremaw, standing 12 meters tall, hunched like a living tank. Its pitch-black armored hide glistened with bone-like ridges, and serrated fangs jutted from both its upper and lower jaws, drool sizzling as it hit the forest floor. Its claws tore at the ground, leaving molten lines of death in its wake.

Opposite it was the Direbrinbare—a lanky yet twisted monstrosity. Its limbs were longer than normal, with jagged bone protrusions and arms like siege spears. Its eyes shone red like lava veins, and its back trembled with ridges that pulsed violently like a beating drum.

[Direbrinbare – Lv30 Silver Tier Boss]

HP: 50,000/50,000

[Goremaw – Lv30 Silver Tier Boss]

HP: 50,000/50,000

And then—

BOOOOM!!!

The Direbrinbare moved first, its thin legs vanishing in a blur before it launched itself like a meteor. Its claw sliced clean through the air, aimed directly for Goremaw's throat. But Goremaw wasn't slow either. With an ear-splitting growl, it ducked and retaliated with a vicious uppercut using its thickened skull, sending Direbrinbare flying a few feet into the air.

-4,550

Direbrinbare crashed against a boulder, snapping it in half like chalk. The system damage numbers glowed briefly in red above its head before fading into the night.

"T-This is wild…" Malik whispered, crouching beneath a fallen trunk, watching through a split in the wood. He could feel the vibrations in the soles of his feet, his body unconsciously entering a combat-ready stance.

CRACK!

The Direbrinbare rebounded with a sharp howl, its skeletal arms spinning in a deadly arc as it lunged back in. Bones clashed with flesh and carapace as it struck Goremaw's side repeatedly—

-3,200

-3,100

Critical Hit! -6,000

But Goremaw wasn't backing down. It lifted one of its clawed limbs and slammed it straight into Direbrinbare's chest.

-5,300

The hit sent Direbrinbare skidding backward through trees, snapping their trunks like matchsticks. Bark and leaves showered like a storm, and Malik's instincts screamed. He activated his boots once more and dove to the right as a massive tree trunk landed where he had crouched seconds ago.

He rolled mid-air and landed on a higher rock formation, giving him a better view.

'If any of those stray attacks touches me… I'm gone.'

He exhaled slowly, calming his heart as his eyes tracked the deathmatch in front of him.

The forest was clearing.

Each clash between the monsters obliterated more of the surroundings. Giant roots were torn out. Craters formed where their claws landed. The ground cracked from the pressure of their weight.

"RARGHHHHH!!!"

Direbrinbare screamed and unleashed a special move. From the ridges on its back, bone spikes shot forward in a fan-shaped attack. The spikes buzzed through the air like javelins.

Goremaw took two to its shoulder and roared in rage, blood spraying from its wound like steam. It slammed its fists into the ground and charged, the force of its sprint shaking Malik's rock perch.

BOOM!!!

It crashed into Direbrinbare at full speed, and both monsters tumbled down a shallow cliff, shaking the earth again.

Malik crouched, sweat beading down his face. Not from fear—but from thrill.

"This… this is why I play this damn game…" he muttered under his breath.

A system notification blinked at the edge of his vision—

[Regional Event: Collision of Silver Tier Bosses detected.]

[You've triggered a Regional event - Temporary SQP +20% in active combat zone for duration of boss battle.]

"Oh?" Malik's lips curled into a grin. "Looks like I really lucked out."

He didn't even need to fight, yet just witnessing this bloodbath was enough to Benefit. He watched as his SQP bar started loading as the fight between the two monsters raged on.

He refocused just in time to see Goremaw tear a chunk of flesh from Direbrinbare's side with its maw. Direbrinbare wailed, retreating briefly before slamming its arm like a hammer and knocking Goremaw aside.

The battle raged on.

They weren't just fighting like beasts—no, this was a territorial war. Their instincts were raw, primal, but every move was deadly and calculated. Even the trees shook in submission.

Malik's gaze deepened as he whispered to himself, "If I could time my moves right, the one who kills the last blow might be me."

His smile turned razor sharp as he started formulating the plan of how to gain tremendously from this event.
