Chapter 56: The Clash of Titans

The battlefield stretched wider now. Where once trees stood proudly in thick clusters, there was now only flattened ground, cracked roots, and splintered trunks. The forest had bowed to the fury of two Silver Tier Bosses.

Malik remained perched atop a jagged ridge, crouched low behind the tilted remains of a giant log. The vantage point was perfect, but even so, the sheer force of the ongoing fight made the air ripple like heat waves from a furnace.

Below him, chaos reigned.

CRAAASSHH!!

Goremaw lunged once more, its massive body shoving forward like a wrecking ball. The earth buckled beneath its momentum. Its claws ignited with a faint red glow—an indication of a charged skill.

Malik's eyes narrowed.

[Goremaw activates Skill – Brute Smash]

The beast's limb came crashing down like a guillotine.

Direbrinbare tried to pivot, but it was too late.

BOOOOM!!!

The hit connected squarely with its shoulder. A shockwave exploded outward, sending debris, dust, and shattered rocks in every direction. Trees within a fifteen-meter radius were uprooted and thrown like twigs. Malik instinctively activated his boots again, dashing behind a boulder before the aftershock reached him.

Direbrinbare staggered!

"Shit, that looked painful," Malik muttered, brushing leaves from his shoulder.

But Direbrinbare wasn't down yet.

With a piercing screech, it stabbed its left arm into the ground. From the soil, sharp bone-like tendrils erupted, forming a jagged cage around itself and Goremaw. Defensive or offensive? Malik wasn't sure. He leaned closer, squinting.

[Direbrinbare activates Skill – Bone Domain]

Status: Goremaw movement speed reduced by 25% inside Bone Domain.

Immediately, the pace shifted. Goremaw's thunderous steps slowed, and Direbrinbare took advantage. Its right claw twisted and elongated, turning into a whip-like blade. It slashed forward.

WHIP!!

Goremaw roared in defiance, retaliating with a spinning slam. The two creatures locked into close quarters, trading devastating blows with claws, bone, and brute force. Blood sprayed like geysers—black for Goremaw, dull red for Direbrinbare. Chunks of flesh and armor scattered across the field like confetti in a storm.

Malik's breath hitched as he crouched, awe evident in his face. He could feel the energy crackling through the air. Every impact resonated deep within his bones. This wasn't just a fight. It was war.

[Direbrinbare – 18,600/50,000 HP]

[Goremaw – 23,900/50,000 HP]

"They're weakening..." Malik muttered, his fingers twitching. "Another five minutes. Ten at most. I can tell."

The monster brawl had transitioned into a brutal slugfest. No more elegance. No more strategies. Just carnage.

Direbrinbare leapt high and came crashing down, piercing Goremaw's back with its skeletal limbs. Goremaw twisted and slammed its own back against a nearby boulder, crushing the Direbrinbare between stone and hide. Blood spilled like a waterfall.

Direbrinbare Stunned!

The beast slumped slightly, its breathing ragged. Its crimson eyes flickered.

Goremaw took no chances. It lunged, mouth wide, trying to chomp its enemy's head in a clean kill. But—

SHHRRRKKK!!!

Direbrinbare's tail lashed upward, slamming into Goremaw's jaw mid-bite. The hit forced its mouth sideways, breaking several of its own fangs.

Goremaw Bleeding – 50 HP/sec for 10 seconds

"Holy hell…" Malik whispered, watching in stunned silence. His heartbeat matched the tempo of the battle. His muscles tensed. He wasn't fighting, but his whole body was locked in the rhythm of the clash, like a hunter watching two apex predators tear each other apart.

<>

"Damn.. This is too good." Malik almost leapt out in joy and he quickly activated stealth failing the perception of the monster who had almost perceive him. If the monsters had noticed him, they'll probably first take him out before continuing their war.

And slowly… slowly… the tide turned.

[Direbrinbare – 6,800/50,000 HP]

[Goremaw – 5,200/50,000 HP]

Only a sliver of life left for both. Every second counted. Every move might be the last.

Malik's pupils shrunk. This… this was his moment.

He slowly stood, his aura stable, his breathing even. A calmness settled over him despite the chaos. His hands clenched into fists. The [Skill Boots] shimmered faintly, ready to boost..

"I could wait… but where's the fun in that?" he whispered, cracking his knuckles. His eyes gleamed with reckless ambition, the same glint that had gotten him into fights he shouldn't have survived—but always did.

His gaze darted between the two titanic beasts.

[Direbrinbare – 6,800/50,000 HP]

[Goremaw – 5,200/50,000 HP]

Two Silver Tier Bosses, still raging like maddened gods, bloodied and weakened. The ground trembled with every step they took, the sky above now a choked mess of smoke and falling leaves.

Malik stepped out from behind the boulder, his figure calm—almost eerily calm—amidst the storm.

"No way I'm letting this end without my name written on their graves. Man Like Malik isn't a spectator. I'm the trigger of this main event, I've to play the role of a main character."

He activated [Skill Boots], the magic inscriptions along the soles lighting up in pale azure as his Agility surged.

[Skill: Swiftburst – Agility +30% for 10 seconds]

SWOOSH!

Malik vanished in a blur, weaving through splintered roots and shattered logs, leaping down the ridge and bursting onto the battlefield like a bolt of lightning.

Direbrinbare had just gotten up from a failed slam when Malik's fist smashed into its exposed side.

BOOOOM!

-3,000 [Critical Strike!]

[Direbrinbare: 3,800/50,000 HP]

The monster reeled back, stunned—no, confused. It hadn't sensed him. It didn't even react in time.

Malik didn't let up.

He followed with a spinning side kick—one honed through hundreds of repetitions in the real world and adapted flawlessly in-game.

[Mastery Kick – Kick Expert Triggered]

-2,200

Stagger!

Direbrinbare's massive body stumbled sideways, crashing into a dying tree and snapping it in half.

Malik dropped low, fists clenched tight, and launched into a furious flurry—punch after punch, his figure a blur of speed and precision. Bone crunched under his knuckles, thick hide split apart, and gore splattered across the dirt.

[Direbrinbare: 800/50,000 HP]

Then, without a word, he ducked under the monster's wild retaliatory swipe, leapt onto its bent knee, then to its shoulder, and drove a final hammering elbow into the base of its skull.

CRRAAAACKK!!!

But Malik didn't even blink

<>

A rare smile formed on his face as he turned around mid-air as Goremaw let out a guttural snarl.

In its eyes, they were nothing but rage. Malik had steal his prey and now he want nothing but to make him pay for it. It charged at Malik with everything it had left.

"Let's dance."

WHOOSH!!

The charge was monstrous. Goremaw moved like a steam engine, tearing through trees and earth to trample Malik into pulp. But Malik didn't retreat. He sprinted forward as well—madness in his eyes, a grin on his face.

Right before impact, Malik slid low, ducking beneath Goremaw's claws and launching upward with a brutal rising punch straight into its exposed belly.

-2,400

[Goremaw: 2,800/50,000 HP]

The beast screamed in agony, flailing. Malik danced around its massive frame, never stopping—always moving.

He jumped onto its back as it tried to rear up, driving fists into the back of its neck, elbows into joints, knees into bone.

"Fall!" Malik bellowed, locking both fists and smashing downward into Goremaw's head with a crushing double hammer strike.

The monster stumbled.

[Goremaw: 600 HP]
