The sound of notifications rang in the ears of every player in the Black Moon Kingdom, and the earth stirred.

A Regional Event…

That's part of the main storyline in God's Realm Online. The player who triggered it—lucky bastard—just became a target. Powerful characters would do anything to uncover the identity of such a player.

Guilds and Adventurer teams had already begun moving. They were deploying members to both towns in droves. Tier 2 players were restricted from Beginner Towns, so the highest level they could send was Tier 1.

Now, both Green Leaf Town and Redstone Town were flooded with Tier 1 players, each eager to fight and rake in Merit Points and Reputation within the Black Moon Kingdom.

Although Merit Points weren't too big a deal on their own, Reputation Points were a different story. Nobody wanted to miss out on that—especially not the guilds.

"Here they come! Adventurers, defend the town!" a town NPC bellowed.

The players charged forward like a tidal wave, each wanting to be the first to make a kill.

"The Feral Cave was discovered recently. And after it was cleared, a Feral Dungeon spawned in our town. Now this? A Regional Event that affects not just us, but Redstone Town too?" A young lady turned sharply to her father—a tall, broad-shouldered middle-aged man with a rugged mustache and deep-set eyes.

"Father, can't you see it? Everything's connected!"

Her father furrowed his brows. "Hmm… I've thought about it too. I've run a search through the entire town, but I still can't find this heaven-defying adventurer who seems tied to Green Leaf Town by fate," he said, his voice low and steady.

"I'm sure he's the cause of the commotion at Leafstone Ruins. Maybe he's even fighting the Truceholder right now! Father, you've been the Mayor of Green Leaf Town for decades—don't you want to support this adventurer and raise our town from this specter of dust?"

"Alethea... you're still too naive. Even as the Mayor of Green Leaf Town, I—Elwes Greenleaf—am bound by the rules of this place," he said, rising from his seat with the weight of old wisdom.

"I can't help this adventurer. Everything has to go according to fate. All I can do now... is wait." He patted her shoulder gently and walked out of the room, leaving Alethea alone and filled with frustration.

'What kind of rule could bind Father from helping this adventurer? Ugh… I shouldn't overthink it. I'll fight on the frontlines instead and earn some Merit Points. Father's been stingy recently anyway.'

She gathered her thoughts, stood up with resolve, and ran out of the room with fire in her eyes.

In the real world, inside a quiet coffee shop beside a university campus, two young men sat across from each other. Their faces were partially hidden beneath their hoodies, steam rising from their cups as they scanned the morning newspaper.

"The Feral Cave—normally only found in Tier 1 cities—was discovered in Green Leaf Town, a beginner's town."

"Not just that. After it got cleared, a Feral Dungeon spawned and was taken down by rogue players. It's rumored they have the backing of the Black Crescent Guild."

"The Black Crescent Guild? That's one of the top ten guilds in the Black Moon Kingdom."

"Yeah, but I don't buy the rumor," the guy in the blue hoodie replied, his eyes never leaving the page. "I think they're business partners at most. Void Reaper invited one of the players into the guild, but the guy rejected it on the spot. Claimed to be the team leader."

He flipped the newspaper and pointed to a circled silhouette.

"This guy... He looks both familiar and strange at the same time."

"There's confidence in that face. Most of his gear looks gold rank too. Have you figured out who he is?"

"Not yet. But I'm 70% sure he's the one who triggered the Regional Event."

The other guy took a long sip of his coffee, then stood up.

"Deploy most of our players to Green Leaf Town. Let them stack up Merit Points. Send five Tier 1 experts too—have them try to dig out this guy's identity," he instructed coldly.

The blue hoodie guy nodded. "Got it."

"One more thing, Striker. Tell our representatives this—if they can rope him into our guild, fine. But if he's against us…" he paused, voice dropping into cold steel, "end him."

"Exactly how I planned it out, Guild Leader."

"Good. I've got classes today. See ya." The guy waved and exited the café, while Striker pulled out his phone and dialed.

"Long Blade, we've got a mission. Guild Leader wants you to gather Tier 1 experts and head straight to Green Leaf Town…"

Iron Mask City

"Did you hear the system notifications?" Taiwo asked her sister.

"Yes, I did. The Regional Event," Kenny replied, her gaze deep in thought.

"Sister Kenny, I've got this feeling Boss triggered it. Shouldn't we go check it out?" Tipa asked politely.

But Kenny shook her head. "Even though we gained a lot from clearing the dungeon and shot our levels up to 20, we should focus on clearing our promotion quests and breaking into Tier 1. We'll be more useful to Boss that way—rather than just being cannon fodder."

"Well said, Sister Kenny." Slicer gave her a thumbs-up.

"I'm sure the others are thinking the same thing. So what are we waiting for? Let's head to the Adventurers' Hall!" Big Nurse concluded as the group nodded.

The five players dashed off, sprinting deeper into the city—rushing in, while the rest of the crowd was rushing out.
