Lam Minh hurtled down from the nearly hundred-meter-high cliff, his jacket flapping in the wind, his presence like that of a war god descending upon the world. This sight momentarily stunned the three Foundation Establishment creatures below. They had never seen a human with such madness and arrogance.
BOOM!
He landed lightly, creating only a small ring of dust around him. The power of the Foundation Establishment Realm allowed him to nullify almost all of the impact force.
He stood up straight, facing the three monsters. One Mid-stage Foundation Establishment and two Early-stage. The invisible pressure from the three powerful auras bore down on him, enough to make an ordinary soldier die of a heart attack.
But Lam Minh just smiled.
"Three against one isn't very fair, is it? Don't you think that's a bit cowardly?" he taunted.
"Cowardly?" the Mid-stage Foundation Establishment creature, the group's commander, sneered, revealing sharp teeth. "Against prey, we have no need for such words. CRUSH HIM FOR ME!"
At its command, the two Early-stage creatures roared and charged from both sides, forming a pincer attack. One lunged with sharp claws, while the other launched a green energy orb.
"Nice of you to come!"
Lam Minh was unfazed. He didn't retreat but advanced. His body flickered, narrowly dodging the energy orb while simultaneously drawing his Blacklight dagger to parry the claws of the other creature.
CLANG!
A piercing sound of metal on metal rang out. The dagger, made of advanced alloy, clashed with the diamond-hard claws of the Foundation Establishment creature, creating a small shower of sparks.
Lam Minh felt a strong force transmit through his arm. "As expected, an Early-stage Foundation Establishment is much stronger than a Peak Qi Refining."
But he wasn't pushed back. He used a skillful spinning technique, borrowing the opponent's force to push them both away, while at the same time avoiding the next attack from the second creature.
The one-on-two battle was incredibly fierce. Lam Minh moved between the two Foundation Establishment creatures like a dancer on a razor's edge. He didn't try to attack head-on but used his superior skill and speed to toy with his opponents, looking for an opening.
The Mid-stage commander stood by with its arms crossed, its eyes filled with growing astonishment. It couldn't believe that someone with an aura of only Early Foundation Establishment (as it perceived) could hold off two of its subordinates alone. This human's combat skill was too refined, too unpredictable.
"You two fools! Use a combination attack!" it roared, seemingly losing patience.
Hearing the command, the two Early-stage creatures immediately changed tactics. They no longer attacked individually but coordinated with each other. One attacked from the front, while the other flanked. Their attacks became linked, sealing off all of Lam Minh's escape routes.
Lam Minh began to feel the pressure. He began to "act."
He panted heavily, his movements slowed, revealing more openings. He was "accidentally" grazed by a blow on the shoulder, tearing a large piece of his shirt.
"Haha! Die!"
Seeing their prey weakened, the two creatures became more bloodthirsty, attacking with even greater ferocity.
This was the moment Lam Minh had been waiting for.
Just as one of the creatures lunged, throwing a full-power punch, Lam Minh suddenly stopped dodging. He used his own shoulder to take the blow.
CRACK!
He felt his shoulder bone shatter. A wave of intense pain washed over him.
"Ah!" He cried out in pain, but a smile that no one saw crept onto his lips.
This sacrifice was necessary. Because it created a golden opportunity.
In the instant the creature was still surprised at why its prey would be foolish enough to block a blow with its body, Lam Minh had poured all his Foundation Establishment qi into his dagger and delivered a fatal stab to the opponent's heart.
STAB!
The Graphene-Adamantium blade, enhanced by spiritual energy, finally pierced through the defenses of the Foundation Establishment creature.
The monster's eyes went wide as it looked down at the hole in its chest, then it collapsed.
[Received 2200 Immortality Points.]
"One!" Lam Minh muttered, pulling out the dagger.
The remaining Early-stage creature, seeing its comrade killed, roared madly. It no longer attacked tactically but charged like a wounded beast.
Lam Minh, with one "severely injured" shoulder, continued his performance. He fought with great difficulty, constantly being sent flying, his body covered in injuries.
Finally, he used another "mutual destruction" tactic, allowing the opponent to pierce his abdomen, and in exchange, he used his last bit of strength to slit its throat.
[Received 2300 Immortality Points.]
"Two!"
Lam Minh collapsed to the ground, blood pooling around him, his hand still gripping the dagger. He looked up at the Mid-stage commander, the only one left, and gave a defiant smile.
The commander no longer looked arrogant. It looked at Lam Minh with a mixture of anger and a hint of... fear. Its two Early-stage Foundation Establishment subordinates had been killed by a weaker human. Even though that human was also dying, this was an unacceptable humiliation.
"You... you are indeed an interesting human," it said. "But this is where it ends."
It slowly walked forward. It would not give this prey any more "lucky" chances. It would use its strongest attack to crush this creature's soul.
This was the moment Lam Minh had been waiting for.
Death at the hands of a Mid-stage Foundation Establishment creature. The point reward would surely be a colossal number!
He closed his eyes, preparing for the fateful "hit."
The Mid-stage creature's hand rose, and a dark purple energy orb, much larger and more terrifying than the previous ones, began to form. The destructive power radiating from it made the entire canyon tremble.
"Die!"
The energy orb shot towards Lam Minh.
Lam Minh smiled. "Mid-stage Foundation Establishment, here I come!"
But...
Just before the energy orb could touch him.
A jade-green light suddenly flashed from the old instrument case lying not far away.
The Thuan Thien sword, sensing its master was in mortal danger, had activated on its own. It flew out of the case, transforming into a streak of green light, and blocked the path in front of Lam Minh.
KENGGGGG!
An earth-shattering explosion rang out. The purple energy orb collided with the green light, creating a horrific energy blast.
Lam Minh, who was preparing to "die," snapped his eyes open, bewildered.
"What... what the hell? No! Are you crashing my party? I was about to level up!"
He saw the Thuan Thien sword hovering in front of him, exuding a kingly aura, completely blocking the attack of the Mid-stage Foundation Establishment creature.
The monster was also stunned. It looked at the ancient sword, sensing a power even more terrifying than its master's, a power that carried the aura of the Dragon race.
"No... impossible... this is..." it stammered, abject terror in its eyes.
Lam Minh, on the other hand, wanted to cry. His perfect point-farming plan had once again been ruined by his "own family."
"Oh, for heaven's sake! Why is my life so hard!"
