Chapter 140: The Defensive System of Godo City

Just as Xiaofeng was still reveling in the arrival of the weapons, Ivy and Alice approached together, accompanied by little Bai, whose height was nearly reaching their shoulders. The striking duo of the two beauties alongside the diminutive Bai captivated the gaze of every soldier present.

Ivy stepped beside Xiaofeng and said, "Mark has asked you to come over and inspect the defense system they are assembling."

Xiaofeng smiled warmly. "Very well, let us see what these experts have wrought." He patted Brada on the shoulder. "I leave things in your capable hands here."

Brada's corpulent frame trembled slightly. "Rest assured, Xiaofeng. I may lack in some things, but commanding these green recruits is something I am confident in!"

"All right... I'll go take a look first," Xiaofeng replied, then followed Ivy and Alice to where Mark and his team were stationed.

Upon entering the room, Xiaofeng was taken aback by the breathtaking sight before him: the entire space was nearly saturated with monitors, the largest of which dwarfed a floor-to-ceiling window. Each screen displayed satellite maps of various locales—some zoomed so closely that individuals and vehicles were discernible, while others offered a panoramic surveillance of the entire city.

Xiaofeng slowly circled the room in awe. "Damn, today I've truly broadened my horizons!"

Mark, pipe clenched between his teeth, chuckled softly. "Impressed? We've worked quickly. Using satellite technology, we're now monitoring all the cities and protected zones surrounding Godo City. Such an immense undertaking could only be accomplished by Victoria Corporation—and only by my team."

"Remarkable. Absolutely marvelous."

"I've named this the Mark Defense System. Of course, it's still incomplete—lacking firepower support."

Xiaofeng frowned. "Mark, what do you mean by that?"

"This system still requires rapid-response missiles. But worry not—the transport fleet will be delivering all the missiles we need. Once deployed, Godo City will become an impregnable fortress. Not only will it fend off the Alliance forces, but even C-grade magical beasts will find no way to breach the city!" Mark said proudly.

Xiaofeng's eyes widened in astonishment. "Is that truly so?"

"Indeed. Our defense doesn't merely rely on satellite surveillance of Godo City and its environs; the heart of it lies in the missile defense system. Once the arsenal is fully in place, not even an Alliance corps will stand a chance against us."

"That's exactly what I wanted to hear. I hope this comes to fruition soon. Now I understand why Victoria Corporation is so formidable. The technology you develop is extraordinary—unparalleled. With it, I can finally proceed with the next phase of my plan."

Mark smiled. "Rest assured, Mr. Xiaofeng, we have the CEO's full backing and will support your endeavors wholeheartedly. Whatever you seek to accomplish, so long as it does not harm Victoria Corporation's interests, my team and I will stand firmly behind you."

"I appreciate that... You all carry on with your work," Xiaofeng said, turning to leave, lost in thought. Ivy followed closely behind, asking softly, "Xiaofeng, what are you thinking about?"

Alice chimed in from the other side, "Brother Xiaofeng, what's on your mind?"

"You two go play and stop interrupting my thoughts. By the way, do you know where we keep the maps here?"

"Sending us away to play while asking for maps—what exactly do you want us to do?"

"Bring me a map..."

Ivy smiled. "Alright, wait for me in your room."

Xiaofeng returned to the room he had chosen—once Pierre's quarters, complete with a fine collection of liquor. Feeling both exhilarated and weary, Xiaofeng uncorked a bottle of whiskey.

Shortly thereafter, Ivy entered, unfurling a map before him. "Commander Xiaofeng, please review this. From now on, I am your secretary. Whatever you need, just say the word, and I'll handle it."

Alice, standing nearby, puffed out her chest and added, "Brother Xiaofeng, I'm your secretary too!"

Even little Bai, sprawled on the floor, gave a soft whimper.

Xiaofeng chuckled softly. "Relying on you two as secretaries will surely be trouble!"

Sipping whiskey, Xiaofeng bent over the map, studying it intently. He noticed that few cities surrounded Godo City, while to the north, Black Whale City was encircled by a dozen or so smaller towns of comparable size.

His gaze fixed on Black Whale City as deep contemplation settled in. Xiaofeng had clashed with the Alliance forces stationed there before and was familiar with their strength.

He tapped a finger on Black Whale City and carefully examined the neighboring towns.

Ivy leaned beside him, her cream-colored blouse unbuttoned three buttons. As she rested on the table, her ample bosom created a striking cleavage, yet Xiaofeng, engrossed in the map, remained oblivious to the alluring sight.

Across from her, Alice noticed Ivy's snowy curves and glanced down at her own modest chest with a faint blush of embarrassment.

Ivy broke the silence, puzzled. "Don't tell me you're thinking of attacking Black Whale City!"

Xiaofeng chuckled. "Why not?"

"You're mad. We haven't even cleaned up the mess here in Godo City, and you're already looking to take on Black Whale City. That place hosts two Alliance divisions!"

"So what if it does? They're no more than a paper tiger to me. What worries me more are the small towns surrounding Black Whale City. If we strike there and those towns come to its aid, we'll be in trouble..."

"Oh, your foresight is impressive. If it were me, I'd steer clear of Black Whale City and consolidate our strength here in Godo City first!"

Xiaofeng shook his head. "You think differently than I do. If we stay huddled here, the Alliance could wipe us out with a single nuclear strike. Our priority must be rapid territorial expansion. The first target is Black Whale City, followed by all the surrounding secondary cities. If we can secure a province-sized territory, the Alliance will find it impossible to annihilate us in one fell swoop."
