The White Wolf King, Baibai 2

Baibai let out a fierce roar as he charged forward, immediately assuming an aggressive stance.

Alice, perched on Baibai's back, gently patted his neck. "Calm down, Baibai, don't get too worked up."

Rush eyed Baibai warily. If Baibai dared to leap at him, he would retaliate, even though Baibai was Alice's beloved companion.

While they stood locked in tension, the wolf pack had already encircled Xiao Feng, Kerry, and Rush. The massive demon wolves glared at the trio with savage intent.

Baibai glanced at the surrounding demon wolves and responded with a continuous series of guttural snarls.

The entire wolf pack halted abruptly, ceasing their charge toward Black Whale City.

At that moment, a larger demon wolf emerged from the pack and positioned itself before Baibai, growling fiercely.

Baibai lowered his body, signaling Alice to dismount.

Xiao Feng called out, "Alice, get down..."

Though puzzled, Alice slid off Baibai's back and hurried over to Xiao Feng. Seeing him clutching his shoulder, she couldn't help but ask with concern, "Brother Xiao Feng, are you alright?"

Xiao Feng chuckled lightly. "The recoil from the Black Angel was unbelievably strong—it broke my arm. But I'm fine; after a short rest, it'll heal."

"What's gotten into Baibai?" Alice inquired.

"I'm not sure. Let's wait and see..." Xiao Feng replied.

Suddenly, the large demon wolf, seemingly the alpha, lunged at Baibai. With a proud, thunderous roar, Baibai's neck fur bristled as he boldly confronted the challenger.

Now nearly equal in size to the alpha wolf, Baibai appeared even fiercer and swifter. Without hesitation, he struck the alpha wolf's face with a mighty paw, leaving three deep claw marks from which fresh blood oozed.

The alpha wolf shook its head and retaliated with a swipe, but Baibai ducked sharply and, targeting the wolf's neck, sank his teeth deep in.

The alpha wolf hadn't anticipated Baibai's lightning speed and failed to evade the bite.

Baibai then pulled downward, forcibly pinning the alpha wolf to the ground. Despite its fierce reputation, the alpha wolf succumbed to Baibai within moments.

Struggling helplessly, the alpha wolf was unable to rise, held captive by Baibai's unyielding jaws. After several agonizing minutes, its howls dwindled into weak whimpers, pleading silently for mercy.

With a low growl, Baibai released his grip and set the alpha wolf free.

The wolf shook its head mournfully, its once proud demeanor now utterly crushed and defeated.

Turning, Baibai roared continuously at the surrounding pack.

The wolf pack fell into a hush, no longer howling. Though a few burly demon wolves cast hostile glances, none dared step forward.

Baibai strode confidently among them, his gaze haughty. After a tense stalemate lasting several seconds, the wolves lowered their heads and let out submissive barks.

Xiao Feng turned to Alice and said, "Baibai is truly remarkable—he's mastered this pack. His mother was a wolf king as well, and now the bloodline of royalty courses through him. Heh..."

"Indeed, Baibai has brought them all under his sway. Truly impressive. I wonder what he'll do next?"

"I'm not certain, but I expect Baibai will command these demon wolves to withdraw. The question is whether they'll accept their new king."

"They will. I know Baibai's strength too well. He's more than worthy."

As Xiao Feng and Alice conversed, Baibai lifted his front paws onto the roof of Xiao Feng's vehicle like a commanding CEO standing on a podium. He let out a majestic howl.

The entire wolf pack responded with a thunderous chorus of howls—hundreds of demon wolves raising their voices in unison, a breathtaking display of power.

With their collective cry complete, the pack turned and began retreating.

Soon, only Xiao Feng, Alice, and their companions remained, alongside the majestic Baibai.

Baibai's demeanor softened as he lowered his head before Alice, allowing her to stroke his head affectionately.

Xiao Feng, still clutching his shoulder, watched the retreating pack with a wry smile. "Good thing we met Baibai. Otherwise, we might have ended up as their prey."

Acknowledging Xiao Feng's praise, Baibai nodded repeatedly, as if to say, "Well said."

After securing the Black Angel, Xiao Feng turned to Kerry. "Let's head back. The third wave of beast attacks is over, but there's still a fourth. Let's see what that brings."

Kerry took the driver's seat, Rush squeezed in beside her, and Alice remained astride Baibai's back. Together, this convoy made its way back to Black Whale City.

Meanwhile, Mark watched the wolf pack's retreat on the command center's screen. Surprised, he contacted Xiao Feng via comms, "Why did the wolf pack retreat?"

"Baibai stepped up at the crucial moment, displaying true kingly prowess. He dominated the pack and ordered their withdrawal."

"I see. Baibai has done great service."

"Heh, indeed. After the war, I'll reward him properly. By the way, send me clear footage of the fourth wave of beasts—I want to formulate our strategy and minimize casualties."

Mark smiled and replied, "Understood. The data will arrive shortly." After a flurry of keystrokes, an image appeared on Xiao Feng's comm device.

Xiao Feng's eyes widened. "No way... Flying-type beasts?"

Kerry glanced at the comm's display, "Vampire bats. These will be even tougher. We have no flying beasts to counter them. What shall we do?"

"We may lack flying beasts, but we do have armed helicopters. How about using them against the vampire bats?"

Kerry nodded thoughtfully. "Helicopters could work, but they lack agility. If the bats swarm, that could spell real trouble."
