The Twins

Tugou unleashed a relentless barrage upon the two figures, yet their movements were eerily elusive, drifting like shadows beyond the grasp of his sights. No matter how fiercely he sprayed, his rounds never found their mark.

From the corridor window, Xiaofeng's hunter's gaze discerned their forms—one male, one female—clad entirely in black combat attire, their slender frames barely visible. Their faces, however, remained shrouded in indistinctness.

A chill crept over Xiaofeng's heart. Their speed eclipsed that of any Seven Kill member he had ever encountered. Suddenly, he noticed gleaming daggers materializing in their hands as they lunged toward Tugou.

"Watch out, Tugou!" Xiaofeng shouted.

Though formidable in strength, Tugou's sluggish pace rendered him vulnerable. Should these two breach his defenses, grievous harm was inevitable.

Without hesitation, Xiaofeng vaulted from the window, Pandora following suit.

As Xiaofeng and Tugou descended, the twins closed in, their blades shimmering coldly as they struck. Though Tugou's armor was sturdy, the daggers pierced through with alarming ease.

Sensing danger, the twins swiftly withdrew their weapons just as Pandora's blade flashed through the air.

Xiaofeng fixed a stern gaze on Tugou. "Are you all right?"

Tugou rapped on his metallic frame. "I'm forged of steel from head to toe. Nothing can harm me—except their speed. I can't even lock onto them with my targeting system."

"I understand. We'll take care of them," Xiaofeng declared, turning to face the now still figures.

Only then did he fully perceive their striking resemblance: a male and female pair, identical in height, with deep violet eyes and exquisite features—more prince and princess than assassins.

A faint smile touched Xiaofeng's lips. "You two are members of the Seven Kill, yes? What are your names?"

The man spoke first. "What did you do to Jack?"

"Nothing fatal. I couldn't kill him." Xiaofeng's gaze shifted to the corridor where Giant gripped Jack's neck and leg, preventing his body from reuniting.

The man's concern for Jack faded, replaced by a cold stare. "So, you are Xiaofeng. It will be your honor to die by our hands today."

Xiaofeng met his gaze evenly. "A word of advice: don't align with the Alliance forces. They will be crushed by us eventually. Your loyalty to them won't end well."

The princess's voice cut through sharply: "Your claims are utterly untrustworthy. Though you have the backing of Brum and Victoria corporations, we control the Alliance forces. Sooner or later, you will be eradicated. To them, you are mere bandits."

"Ah, such harsh words from a young lady," Xiaofeng retorted with a teasing glance. His gaze carried an irresistible charm—one no woman could easily resist, unless she disliked men.

The princess felt a stirring within, an inexplicable attraction mingled with his sharp scrutiny that made her avert her eyes.

From Giant's grasp, Jack bellowed, "Yezi! Yuan! Kill Xiaofeng—quick!"

Xiaofeng paused, frowning at the two names. They sounded like island nations. Observing Yezi and Yuan, he noticed thick black smoke swirling around their right hands, coalescing into long, deadly katana.

His brow tightened, recalling the black abilities of the Seven Kill: Satan's fog-based teleportation, Ghost Demon's incorporeal immortality, and Jack's black filaments for regeneration. Yet these twin siblings wielded black smoke forged into weapons.

An ominous thought flickered in Xiaofeng's mind—their dark mist might stem from a shared power. A cunning plan took root.

Pandora, startled by Xiaofeng's silence, urged, "What are you thinking? If you want to live, defeat them."

Xiaofeng smiled faintly. "They're indeed formidable."

Pandora brandished her twin blades. "I'll take the woman; you handle the man. Swift and decisive."

"Agreed. Let's begin." Xiaofeng charged toward Yuan.

Pandora engaged Yezi. Though Yezi's beauty might have evoked some sympathy from Xiaofeng, she stirred no such feelings in the mechanical Pandora—in fact, it bred a grudging jealousy. Yezi was breathtakingly beautiful, fueling Pandora's battle fervor. Her twin blades danced with blinding speed, leaving Yezi cautiously on the defensive.

Facing Yuan, Xiaofeng saw him wield a sleek black katana, striking fiercely toward his bare head.

Frowning, Xiaofeng summoned a surge of potent psychic energy, seizing Yuan's wrist mid-swing. Yuan's eyes widened in surprise—his blade was halted in midair.

"You…" Yuan's expression betrayed astonishment.

Xiaofeng chuckled softly. "Psychic ability, evolved." Then, invoking his metal manipulation, he raised a stray bullet from the ground, hovering it before Yuan's brow. "Metal control. Impressive, isn't it? And that's not the only power I possess."

Suddenly, the air beside Xiaofeng thickened with moisture, swiftly coalescing into a flowing stream. Pressing his right hand, imbued with water, against the immobilized Yuan, the liquid rapidly froze.

"Cryokinesis." Yuan stared down at his chest, already numbed by the biting cold.
