The Solace of Solitude

Nadi emitted a faint derisive snort. She should have realized it much earlier, that it was always better to depend on oneself rather than others. In this world, only oneself is truly reliable and loyal.

She started crawling.

Resolutely, she crawled towards the third floor.

When she finally reached the third floor, leaned against the wall to stand up, and was about to push open the door of the third-floor medical room, suddenly there were consecutive gasps from downstairs. Immediately, a group of servants clamored, "Amin, what's wrong?"

"Someone come quickly. Amin has fainted. Call the family doctor!"

"You, hurry and take Amin to the third-floor medical room!"

In just a few seconds, a robust bodyguard carried Amin upstairs, getting into the medical room before Nadi. Then, the bodyguard slammed the door of the medical room shut, leaving Nadi outside.

Nadi's hand couldn't wait. The longer the treatment was postponed, the worse the recovery would be.
