S1E6: Move In (Part 3)

I straightened my body, then blinked my eyes several times. “What time is it?”

“Morning, sweetheart!” I’m looking at my side. She fluttered, her eyes opened and disoriented. I kissed her forehead and rubbed her hand.

I got up and walked to my desk immediately, then started the day. I took a deep breath and sighed. “Don’t push yourself too hard, Julie.” She wrapped her arms around my neck, then pecked my cheek.

“I’m not pushing myself too hard, babe.” I turned on my laptop. “I'm just curious.” I opened my browser, then opened my email inbox.

I opened the email from her friend. I took a deep breath and scrolled through the page. “Yes!” We cheered as we hugged tightly each other.

“Julie...” I’m nodding my head and sighed in relief. Now, I should be fighting for us. I’m not an author anymore, but... an entrepreneur. Let’s focus on us right now. I heard a notification from my bank.

“She’s already transferred the money.” She’s smiling. A gentle smile draws on her face.

I took a deep breath. “Let’s go!” She’s nodding head and we’re heading to place number one.

“Here’s the building...” The agent opened the door. “Two story building, this is the ground floor. On the back there’s room for storage, and... a backdoor goes to the alleyway.” I opened the storage area and looked at her.

Her eyes kept shining bright as we explored this two-story building. “I like it Julie... and what do you think? Do you think this is perfect for us to open the cafe?”

I’m nodding my head. "Let's say we’re heading upstairs!” She pulled my hand.

“Whoa... whoa... calm down!” I’m chuckling and sighing. She is still that girl.

After we made a deal with the real estate agent, we decided to re-design the building together, and ended up we’re in bed. I stroked her hair.

She brushed my hair, then sat, wearing her glasses.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

She wrapped the blanket around her body, then tugged. “Why did that?” I furrowed my brow. Did what?

She sighed and looked at me. “Wearing that ring in the middle of class and saying your ‘vow’ in front of everyone...” Her voice was low, and her face was red.

Flashback on

I approached her as she stood there, waiting for me. She looks beautiful in that kimono. My heart beating faster. Well, when the spring season came, it’s time for me to leave this country and return to Italy.

I should confess my feelings before I leave. “I’m sorry, Rumi. My dad forgot to give me my allowance”

She nodded her head, then we walked with our hands intertwined. “You will return to Italy after the graduation?” Her voice was low.

“Yes... tonight it was... my last summer festival.” She sighed. I put my arm surrounded her waist and pulled her closer. Someone tapped my shoulder.

I’m looking behind me, and an old lady brings a white plastic bag. “Do you want a roasted peanut?” I’m picking up some money from my phone case, then giving her 20.000 Yen.

“Thank you, young lady. I hope you will be blessed whenever you are.” She gave me the white plastic bag.

I can smell roasted peanuts. I’m looking at Rumi, she’s just standing there, silent, and I can see a glimpse of tears in her eyes. We bought some street food, played some mini games until we reached the peak of the event. Fireworks.

I decided to drag her to the top of the valley. “Why do you give me that silent treatment?” My voice was cold and fierce. She’s not answering me until the fireworks ended and we apart.

I took a deep breath as my last year in this nation was near. Since the festival, she’s withdrew herself from me. Where did I do wrong!? I pulled her class door, where everyone looked at me, including the teacher inside.

“Ms. DiNozzo. Go back to your...” I kept walking towards her desk, then pinned her to the wall.

“Tell me where I did wrong?” Her tears fell, and her body trembling. I took a deep breath and sighed. Right, my bad. I loosened my grip on her wrist, then looked at her locker desk. There’s a ring. A couple ring.

I picked one of them, then put it on my finger ring. All eyes on us, including the teacher. He stood there with a book in his hand and ready to scold me.

I held her hand tight and stared into her eyes. “I promise to be there for you in your worst, health, poor, happy, and every mood you’re about to give me.” I’m glancing at them.

“I know it’s my last year in this nation, but... let’s make a memory and give me reason to return to you.” I intertwined her pinky finger, then kissed her cheek in front of everyone.

A bold move only made by me. Julia DiNozzo. The daughter of notorious mobs in Italy. The teacher pinched my ear, scolded me and dragged me outside.

As I dragged outside by him, I saw she laughed and wiped her tears. Ha... my sacrifice skipping class made it worth it.

As long as she’s smiling. I can deal with anything that comes next. Even with Mr. McCarthy scolded until my ears bled.

Flashback off

I cupped her cheek, then poked her nose. “You withdrew yourself from me, so... I decided to give you a reason not to avoid me.”

I stared into her eyes. I know it’s a bold move to ‘confess’ your feelings towards your crush. In front of the teacher and students. She pouted.

“What!? I did not do wrong, right?” She crossed her arms over her chest, glared at me. My dear God. She was the cutest woman I’ve ever met. My heart beating fast, as if it wants to jump from its place.

I took a deep breath, held her tight. “At least... you give me a reason to return.” I tickled her waist. She squirmed and giggled. We’re spending the rest of the night talking, joking, teasing, and sleeping.

It’s just simple for some people, but it means too much for me.
