S1E5: Move In (Part 2)

I’m tapping my fingers as I look at my monitor. “Julie, are you alright?” I’m nodding my head. I leaned my back on the chair, frustrated.

“Looking for a job... it’s not that difficult, but sometimes I just feel defeated with that.” She wrapped her arms around my waist, put her chin on my shoulder.

Her scent. I kissed her cheek, then took off my glasses. I quit, because they’re not giving me permission to date her. Our relationship spread all over the media.

“Are you sure...”

“I’m 1000% sure. I’ll do anything to keep you by my side.” I took a deep breath and sighed. They did not deserve me, Rumi.” Our fingers intertwined. No matter what happens next, I will do anything to keep you happy, Rumi. You have my words. “I have a lot of cars, such as Porsche, BMW, and... Jeep. I can sell them all to support your dream.”

She gripped my hand tight. “You don’t have to do that, Julie. How...”

I turned my body to face her, then cupped her cheek. “We can take a bus like we used to, or we can buy a secondhand car. My sister is a mechanic. Do you remember her?”

She’s nodding her head. My shoulder is wet. I stroked her hair gently, sang her favorite song.

“You always know how to soothe me, Julie.” Her embrace got tight on my waist.

Flashback on

I opened my eyes, followed with my phone keep buzzing. Ugh... who’s called me that early!? I got up, then walked to my desk to pick up the phone. “Hello...”

I furrowed my brow. News!? What’s going on? I'm looking at Rumi, who was disoriented and groggy. “Hey, what’s wrong?” She’s wrapped her arms around my waist.

“I’ve got a call from my editor, and she told me to... watch the news.” I grabbed the remote, then turned on the TV.

My jaw dropped as the news anchor announced my dating rumor, with our pictures shown worldwide. Our hands intertwined as her grip tightened as my phone’s notifications kept echoing. I took a deep breath and sighed, trying to calm myself with all these true rumors.

Someone must have... stalked us, or maybe Paparazzi secretly took our pictures or... aaagh! Who else wanted to stalk me, other than the journalist or Paparazzi!?

“Ju...”

“I already made up my mind. I chose you.” I stared into her eyes, cupped her cheek. We parted for years.

I don’t want to waste my life on money and fame. I already tasted it. It was sour and bitter. She gripped my hand tight. “Let’s face this together.” I’m nodding my head.

No matter what happens next. I have already made up my mind.

Like other fame person. I’m looking at the journalists, who were gathering in front of the lobby. “Wait here.” I spoke to the driver.

I brought her with me. Besides, we’re still looking for a permanent residence. I took a deep breath as she rubbed my back to soothe me. “Are you ready?”

A smirk draws on my face. “I’m ready to tell the world that you’re mine.” I held her hand tight. As we’re getting out from the taxi.

“They’re here!”

All the security guards already stood by there to help us get through to the lobby. “Julia!” When we got inside, my editor and manager slapped me. “You... betrayed us! You said you’re not...”

Her true colors showed. My editor never forced me to do something I don’t like, but in this situation like this. They should calm down and not ask me to make a statement, that wasn’t true. What kind of sick game did they play?

My publisher and she were shown their true colors. All they care about is money, stocks, and fame. Did they also think about my feelings? I’m a human! Not a walking money printer.

She glared at my girlfriend, pointed her finger at her. “You...” I brushed off her hand.

“Can you have some respect to her!?” I pulled her closer, gritted my teeth. Everything became quiet for a moment.

I don’t know who to blame for all the chaos, either. “Julie... stopped.” She gripped my jacket, as she pulled me closer. I’m looking at her teary eyes.

“I love her! I’ve been parted for years, and I don’t want to lose my chances again!” I raised my voice.

“J-Julie... let’s get out of here...” Her gripped more tightened than before. We’re walking to the director’s office. I saw him waiting there with his suit ready.

“So...”

“I will terminate our contract.” He chuckled and told me to sit. I picked the black card from my wallet, then put it on his desk.

“Are you serious, Julia? You will lose your income, privilege, and... everything we give, such as...”

“I’m dead serious, Mr. Jonathan. I chose to tell the world that... this lady, who was standing next to me, is my soulmate.” He scoffed. He stood up approaching us, then shook his head.

“We’re...”

“I’m done! My lawyer will contact you soon to terminate my contract.” I spoke as we walked out of that building, with my hand intertwined with hers.

“Thanks.” She leaned her head on my shoulder. The journalist kept taking pictures of us. I’m smiling wide and give them all my statements with honesty and transparency. Maybe some of them will not like that decision.

I just want to spend the rest of my life with her.

Flashback off

I straightened my body, then looked next to me. “Hey...” She pulled me closer, then stroked my hair. “What if...”

“It’s fine, babe... Money can be replaced, but you are one of a kind. The factory already closed to create a woman like you.” I brushed off her hand, then guided her head to lean on my chest. I let her sit on my lap, stroked her hair gently.

She traced my face with her finger. She touched my cheek, as if it was too vulnerable. “Your fan will be...”

“I’ll protect you. If it will cost me my life... I’ll do it!” I stared into her eyes; I pecked her lips. She closed her eyes as we savored the moment.

She pushed me gently, then closed her eyes, again. “Sleep if you want to sleep. I’m here.” I whisper.

“I feel secure and safe whenever you are around, Julie.” She spoke.

I closed my eyes and let my guard down. It’s only us. Just us for tonight. “Let's make new memories together! Sad, sick, healthy, poor, wealthy, or happy. We’ll face it together.” She’s smiling and nodding her head.

A new adventure was waiting for us.

A blank page will be filled with our memories together. I’ll make sure... we will fill it with happiness.
