Chapter 51: Ninja vs. Titans

In the world of Titans, humanity's surviving territory was enclosed by three concentric circular walls. The outermost of these was called Wall Maria.

Each of these massive walls had three outward-jutting fortresses at strategic points, designed as buffer zones to absorb the brunt of Titan attacks and protect the primary gates.

Shiganshina District was one such fortress town attached to Wall Maria. Its purpose was to slow down the advance of Titans so the main gate wouldn't fall instantly in the event of a breach.

But the wall's architects likely never imagined that Wall Maria would be broken through so swiftly after Shiganshina fell—shattered by the force of the Armored Titan.

Even the Armored Titan could never have anticipated what happened next: less than a minute after breaching Wall Maria's gate, a mass of tree roots suddenly burst from the ground, weaving together into a thick wooden barricade that sealed off the ruined entrance.

"What… is that?"

Everyone froze in place.

Then, a man dressed in priestly robes suddenly dropped to his knees with a loud thump, and shouted with fanatical fervor:

"A miracle! This is a divine miracle! Wall Maria is sacred and shall never fall!"

His voice was so impassioned that it stirred many of the nearby civilians. Even those who didn't believe in the Church of the Walls began to waver.

Could the walls truly be holy and inviolable? Could they really possess the power to shield humanity?

Many turned to stare at the wall in awe.

"Look! Up on the wall!"

A boy suddenly pointed.

There, faintly silhouetted in the evening light, stood four figures—unclear, yet undeniably human.

"Are they from the Scout Regiment?" someone whispered.

But just as people were starting to guess, the four figures suddenly leapt off the top of the wall.

A soldier from the Garrison Regiment widened his eyes in shock and shouted, "Wait—they're just kids! And they're not wearing any vertical maneuvering gear!"

"What?!"

Others stared intently, realizing it was true. There was no maneuvering equipment on these four children. Cold sweat broke out across many faces.

Jumping from a 50-meter-high wall without any gear—were they trying to kill themselves?

The four children plummeted rapidly through the air.

The first to leap landed squarely atop a 10-meter-class Titan. A flash of silver—a kunai spun in his hand—and then a swift kick.

Thud!

In an instant, the Titan's head was sent flying off its body.

"There are twenty-three Titans that got through Wall Maria," Nawaki declared, flipping midair and landing lightly on the rooftop of a nearby house. "I'll take eleven. The rest are yours."

"No problem!" three voices responded in unison, each brimming with rage.

Minato, Yahiko, and Nagato stared forward with cold fury in their eyes.

When the system announced the start of the mission, they had charged out immediately, intent on unleashing their wrath—but Nawaki had stopped them.

There was no point killing Titans in an already-fallen district. It was better to intercept them further ahead, where retreating civilians were fleeing, and prevent more deaths.

Hearing that analysis, the three held back their emotions and made their way to Wall Maria. They had arrived just as the Armored Titan breached the gate.

Without hesitation, Nawaki had used Wood Style to re-seal the entrance. Then they climbed to the top of the wall—leading to the current moment.

Now that they had a chance to unleash their fury, there was no reason to hold back.

Whoosh!

The three split up, each targeting a Titan.

Minato, the fastest, closed in on an 8-meter-class Titan.

Shuriken?

Ordinary projectiles like shuriken were useful in standard battles—but against towering giants, they were practically useless. At this point, Minato, who hadn't yet learned ninjutsu, could only rely on his kunai.

The Titan spotted him and let out a meaningless roar before reaching to grab him.

But it grasped nothing.

To an ordinary onlooker, Minato was a golden blur, vanishing from sight. In the next instant, he was above the Titan's head.

Leaf Hurricane!

Bam!

His foot slammed into the Titan's grinning face, twisting it terrifyingly. The monster stumbled back and crashed into a house, reducing it to rubble.

"…What the hell?"

Many people stared, dumbfounded.

A boy who looked no older than nine had leapt into the air—without any equipment—and kicked over an 8-meter Titan?!

They must be dreaming, surely.

No one could have guessed that although Minato was still a student at the Ninja Academy, his taijutsu had already reached the level of a Chūnin.

Using the system's strength classification:

Minato was already C-rank.

Yahiko and Nagato, though having only trained for a little over a month, had their physical strength enhanced by the system and now surpassed average humans. They were D-rank.

In terms of combat power, they were already more than capable of handling ordinary Titans.

Still, they weren't reckless. Knowing their limitations, they each targeted smaller Titans under 5 meters in height.

"Water Style: Raging Waves!"

Yahiko, with his signature orange hair, swiftly evaded a 3-meter Titan's grab. Finishing his hand seals just in time, he opened his mouth.

A high-pressure stream of water blasted forth, pushing the small Titan back several steps. Yahiko seized the opening and lunged forward, stabbing his kunai at what he thought was a vital point.

"Waaaugh!"

The Titan shrieked and grabbed for him again, completely unfazed by the blow.

It didn't work?

Yahiko dodged the hand in shock.

Unfamiliar with Titan anatomy, Yahiko had no idea their only true weak point was the nape of the neck. Unless that specific area was destroyed, even beheading them wouldn't stop their regeneration.

Of course, Nawaki knew this—but he couldn't let on. How could he possibly explain how he knew such detailed information about Titans?

So, watching them try to stab Titans with kunai…

It was the epitome of "fools rush in where angels fear to tread."

Compared to Yahiko, Nagato's fight was far more impressive.

As a member of the Uzumaki clan with the Rinnegan, Nagato had quickly learned all five nature transformations from Jiraiya and had the chakra reserves to support them.

Now, he unleashed a dazzling array of ninjutsu:

"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"

"Water Style: Raging Waves!"

"Earth Style: Earth Spear!"

In a rapid combo, the Titan before him was completely overwhelmed. Finally, caught off guard, it took a fireball to the face—just before a jagged earth spear pierced through its skull.
