Blood dripped from the corner of the Titan's mouth.
The very soldier who had just told Minato and the others about the Titan's weak spot—and even tossed them his longblade—had now met his end inside the mouth of a Titan. That massive grinning face was utterly disturbing.
It was an Abnormal—a special class of Titan. Though similar in appearance to regular Titans, their movements were far more erratic and unpredictable. They didn't simply charge toward humans mindlessly, making their actions difficult to anticipate...
But one thing remained the same: they showed no mercy to any human nearby.
Of course, aside from Nawaki, none of the others knew this information.
"Damn it!"
Yahiko, who was closest, clenched his teeth, quickly picked up the fallen longblade from the ground, and without hesitation charged straight at the Abnormal Titan.
With a few leaps, he reached the back of the Titan, just as it was mid-swallow, and raised the blade in fury to slash its nape.
But at that moment—
The Titan suddenly raised its hand and swatted, as casually as a person might swat a fly.
Its speed was incredible. Yahiko, mid-air, had no way to dodge. He could only watch in shock as the hand came crashing down on him.
His pupils widened.
SMACK!
With even greater force than his leap, Yahiko was flung backward, crashing onto a rooftop. Blood surged up his throat and spilled from his lips in a coughing fit.
This was when the value of the Vertical Maneuver Gear truly showed—because it relied on cables, skilled users could easily change direction mid-air and avoid a Titan's attacks.
Of course, if the cables were ever grabbed by a Titan, death was all but certain.
"Yahiko!"
Seeing his friend get swatted away, Nagato abandoned the Titan in front of him and rushed to Yahiko's side.
Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, Yahiko muttered with frustration, "That Titan was so fast… I think my leg's broken. I can't move."
"Isn't it just a normal Titan? Yahiko, rest for now. I'll take care of it."
Minato nodded. From the Titan's movements just now, he could tell it wasn't like the sluggish regular ones. Its speed far surpassed that of ordinary Titans.
Still, compared to his own speed, it was slower. And its agility? Far inferior.
As long as he didn't stay in mid-air for too long, he'd be fine.
After all, by focusing chakra to the soles of one's feet, a ninja could walk on almost any surface as if it were solid ground.
Right. Yahiko and Nagato had only been training for a month. The fact they'd learned any jutsu at all showed their talent. But they hadn't learned such advanced techniques yet.
With a flicker, Minato dashed toward the Abnormal.
It was an eight-meter-class Titan.
Seeing Minato appear, the Abnormal Titan let out a strange screech.
It reached to grab him.
But Minato took a small sidestep, easily dodging the hand, and even stepped on the Titan's arm, rushing straight up to its nape.
With two swift slashes from the longblade, a chunk of flesh from the nape was cleanly severed.
The Titan didn't even have time to cry out before it collapsed to the ground, its body steaming as it began to evaporate and die…
In a clean and effortless display, Minato had utterly dominated the Abnormal.
"So weak. Seriously, too weak. The biggest issue is that Titans have no intelligence… In this entire world, probably only a handful of those intelligent Titans could even stand a chance one-on-one against Minato."
Watching the scene unfold, Nawaki couldn't help shaking his head.
To be honest, this mission in the world of Titans was supposed to be relatively difficult for their team.
While individual Titans weren't strong, they made up for it with sheer numbers—like zombies.
If Nawaki weren't here, the destruction of Wall Maria's gate would've meant that Minato, Yahiko, and Nagato would've been forced to defend it on their own. They would have to constantly bait and battle Titans until the gate could be patched up.
And during that time, powerful boss-level enemies like the Armored Titan might appear.
Minato and the others had limited chakra and stamina. The longer the fight dragged on, the more dangerous it would become.
When you thought of it that way, the mission's difficulty actually skyrocketed.
Unfortunately—or fortunately—there was no "what if."
With Nawaki, essentially a high-level player, around, it felt like he was power-leveling his teammates. He blocked the gate right away, massively reducing the mission difficulty, and then took care of half the enemies himself.
Yet if he didn't do that, it would look like he was slacking…
Power-leveling in the Lord God System—truly the biggest enemy of the system's intended progression!
Muttering to himself, Nawaki saw that Minato and the others hadn't noticed him and were still focused on clearing the remaining Titans. He snapped his fingers.
Shhhkk!
The eleven Titans that had been struggling to free themselves from his wooden spikes suddenly froze.
From within, thick spikes pierced directly through the back of their necks, utterly destroying their inner structure. These D-rank Titans were instantly and effortlessly killed.
Wiping them out as if it were nothing, Nawaki continued analyzing.
This can't go on. Things need to change.
He needed to add a new rule: within the Lord God System, if someone's strength is more than a full tier higher than their teammates, they can't form a squad together—only join large teams.
If a team member's power level vastly outpaced their allies, they would be forcibly removed from the group.
This would prevent power-leveling freeloaders.
Nawaki nodded, satisfied with the idea.
And to prevent newcomers from assuming that the Reincarnation Space was too weak overall, he could introduce multi-team missions in the future.
For example, during a major world event (like the Marineford War in One Piece), he could simultaneously introduce S-rank, A-rank, and B-rank teams. Each would have different objectives, not conflicting with one another—
But their paths would intersect, allowing newcomers to witness truly powerful Reincarnators and understand the vastness of the Reincarnation Space…
Of course, during these chaotic missions, to avoid bullying of newcomers, a Newcomer Protection Clause could be enforced—prohibiting veteran teams from attacking beginner squads.
But that's for later.
Right now, the most important thing was… Nawaki could finally detach from the main group.
As long as he couldn't squad up with Minato, Kushina, and the others, he could skip missions without raising suspicion.
He could just hang around as a solo Reincarnator.
And whenever a world intrigued him, he could appear at will, team up with any Reincarnator, and reveal his strength…
"This is brilliant!"
The more Nawaki thought about it, the more excited he became. Clapping his hands once, he finalized his decision!
There might still be some flaws, but he could fix them later.
At last, he wouldn't have to keep suppressing his power and pretending to be a low-level rookie with Minato and the others.
Just then, Minato and the others, having now learned the Titans' weak point, finished clearing out the remaining ones and came running over to Nawaki. Their eyes were full of energy, as if itching to go out and fight again.
"Big Brother Nawaki! We've cleared all the Titans here! Should we head outside now?"
"Hm?" Nawaki furrowed his brows.
"That doesn't sound right. The main mission was to prevent the fall of Wall Maria, right? I've already sealed the gate. If the area's been cleared, shouldn't the mission be complete?"
