Chapter 86

Chapter 86 – Echoes of Power

The blue and red lights of police cars flashed through the night as Su Weilan was dragged from Bai Corp's headquarters in handcuffs. Reporters swarmed the steps, their cameras capturing every grimace of his downfall. The footage would dominate headlines by morning, a symbol of Bai Xueqing's return as the rightful queen of the boardroom.

Inside, Xueqing exhaled as the last of the corrupt board members was escorted out by security. The building, once buzzing with hidden threats, felt eerily quiet now—like the hush after a storm.

Mo Chen stepped up beside her, his eyes lingering on her tired but resolute expression. "This was your fight," he said softly. "But you didn't have to do it alone."

She looked at him, the tension in her shoulders easing as she allowed herself to lean slightly toward him. "I know," she whispered. "I almost forgot that."

Yanshang emerged from the elevator, his usual nonchalant smirk tempered by exhaustion. "All surveillance feeds have been secured," he reported. "Our tracks are covered. No one outside this building knows you orchestrated the sting."

Xueqing nodded. "And Qiao Lan?"

"In protective custody," he replied. "She's cooperating. Her testimony will help bury Su Weilan and his accomplices."

Mo Chen glanced between the two of them. "You both did well," he said quietly, pride clear in his voice.

Xueqing sighed, rubbing her temples. "It's not over. We still have to rebuild the company's reputation—and I need to find who was pulling Su Weilan's strings from behind the scenes."

Mo Chen's gaze sharpened. "You think there's someone else?"

"His threats, his confidence… he wasn't working alone," she said grimly. "Someone bigger is lurking in the shadows."

Outside, a light rain began to fall, streaking the windows with silver rivulets. Xueqing turned to watch it, the city lights blurring beyond the glass. For a moment, the three stood together, silent but united.

Then, her phone buzzed. A message appeared, anonymous and chilling:

> The real game begins now, Miss Bai.

She clenched her jaw. "Let them come," she murmured. "I'm ready."
