Chapter 85 – The Queen's Gambit
The silence in the boardroom was shattered by the flicker of lights. Power surged, and the room went dark for an instant—then emergency lights bathed everyone in a cold, sterile glow. Gasps rose as security feeds appeared on the projector, showing Su Weilan's men being silently subdued one by one by figures in tactical gear.
Mo Chen's eyes glinted in the gloom. He turned to Xueqing. "Now."
She stepped forward, voice ringing clear. "Su Weilan, your reign of intimidation ends today."
Su Weilan's face twisted with rage. He reached for the gun hidden under his coat—but Mo Chen was faster. In a blur, Mo Chen slammed him against the table, disarming him. Papers and phones scattered as board members dove for cover.
The doors burst open. Yanshang strode in with a team of black-clad operatives, weapons raised but muzzles pointed down. "Room secured," he announced coolly.
Su Weilan's men, hogtied in the hallway, could be seen on the live feeds. The director who had been trembling earlier stood up, voice cracking. "I—I didn't know it would come to this."
Xueqing's eyes were cold. "Yet you still sold the company's secrets. You chose greed."
Mo Chen hauled Su Weilan upright, pressing him to face the board. "Confess," he growled.
The older man spat blood, glaring defiantly. But as his gaze swept the room—at cameras recording, at the mountain of evidence—his shoulders slumped.
"I did it," he croaked. "I orchestrated it all."
Xueqing nodded, calm but lethal. "Your confession is recorded and transmitted to the authorities. You'll face the law for your crimes."
Her gaze swept over the cowering board members. "As for the rest of you—you will either pledge your loyalty to Bai Corp's rebirth, or resign now. Choose."
One by one, they lowered their heads, murmuring their allegiance.
Mo Chen stepped beside her, his expression softer now that the worst was over. "You did it," he whispered.
She glanced at him, fierce and vulnerable all at once. "We did it."
From the shadows, Yanshang smirked. "Looks like you two make a terrifying pair."
Outside the boardroom, sirens wailed in the distance, growing louder.
As the police swept in to arrest Su Weilan, Bai Xueqing stood tall, her company safe—for now. But she knew the game wasn't over.
And she was more ready than ever to play.
