Chapter 84

Chapter 84 – The Boardroom Coup

The Bai Corp headquarters felt like a pressure cooker. Executives milled in the lobby with hushed voices, smartphones buzzing with rumors. The emergency board meeting had been called at dawn—no one knew why, but everyone felt the tremor of approaching disaster.

In the boardroom, the air was ice-thin. Chairs were filled with shareholders, department heads, and old men who had once ruled Bai Corp like a private empire.

Bai Xueqing entered wearing a fitted navy suit, her heels clicking like a metronome of fate. She placed her briefcase on the table and looked each board member in the eye.

Mo Chen stood behind her like a shadow, dark and steady.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Xueqing began, voice sharp. "Today we address crimes committed against this company, and those who allowed them."

A ripple of nervous coughs followed.

She pressed a button. The projector flickered to life, casting images of financial transfers, offshore accounts, and surveillance stills of Su Weilan meeting Zhou Wei in clandestine locations.

Gasps spread across the table.

"This is a lie!" barked Director Chen, slamming his fist on the table.

Mo Chen stepped forward, tossing printed evidence in front of him. "A lie you signed off on?"

The man's face drained of color.

One by one, Xueqing exposed the hidden alliances. Some board members paled; others tried to bluff. But as she laid out each thread of betrayal, their defenses unraveled.

"You've all profited from the company's bleeding," she said, voice like steel. "This ends now."

A hesitant voice from the corner: "You don't have the authority—"

She lifted a folder. "As acting CEO with 42% controlling shares and the emergency clause triggered by fraud investigation, I do."

Silence fell. Even the usually smug Director Li looked as if he might faint.

Suddenly, a slow clap echoed through the room.

Su Weilan stepped inside, surrounded by his private security. His eyes glittered with menace. "Impressive, Xueqing. But you're forgetting one thing."

She didn't blink. "And what's that?"

He smiled thinly. "The loyalty of those who fear me more than they fear you."

The doors slammed shut behind him. Armed men took positions along the walls.

Mo Chen shifted subtly, hand near his concealed weapon. Xueqing remained eerily calm.

Then Yanshang's voice crackled over Mo Chen's earpiece: "I have eyes on every hallway. Give the word, and I flip the lights."

Xueqing's lips curved into a dangerous smile.

"Let's finish this," she whispered.
