Chapter 56: Building the Ship

As Koa and Tom started talking about the shop, he informed Tom about the engine design that he obtained from the place called Sky Island. When he showed it to Tom, it shone in Tom's eyes, as it was able to run with pure electricity, making it not reliant on sailing winds. The output could also be controlled, as it was able to choose to fly or just sail in the sea. After the initial conversation, Koa and Greenbull went back to the ship, while Tom made an original sketch for the ship that he wanted to make for Koa, and also incorporated what Koa wanted, with the Jet Dials being given to Tom.

When Koa and Greenbull came back into the building, he saw Tom excitedly waiting for Koa, as he finished the early draft of the ship that Koa wanted to build. It was a ship that could transform into a submarine that would use a metal found on Fishman Island that Tom brought with him. It was mixed with seastones to make it stronger and harder. The ship could also transform into a rocketship, as Koa said it was another requirement, as Koa wanted to go to the Moon, not only as a promise for Enel, but he also wanted to see the Moon.

"How many rooms would this have?" Koa then asked.

"I wanted to make sure that there would be free rooms for my future crew, as well as a training room, a relaxing room, multiple baths and a comfort room, a kitchen, a mini garden, and of course, an aquarium that could store many fishes and sea kings alive for them to take. It should also have a large storage room, and of course, the weapons," Koa then added towards Tom, as he said all of his specifics. Despite this, Tom already included everything, as there's also a watchtower for each quadrant in the ship.

"All in total, there would be more than 30 rooms in your ship, and of course, I will add a system where if the rooms are not enough, we can add more," Tom answered Koa, as he was proud of his skills as a shipwright. With Tom's assurance, Koa breathed a sigh of relief. He then discussed the payment with Tom.

"So, how much do you think it would cost? And of course, how long would it take to build?" Koa asked for a quotation.

"I want to say free, but based on the materials and the manpower alone, it would cost more than three billion berries. But I can give it to you for just two billion berries, if you could wait for at least two years," Tom said the price, but Koa was extremely confident that he could pay, as he floated the ship that he was using for a long time and started asking Tom for a gold conversion.

Tom accepts gold as payment according to the current conversion rate of gold coins into berries. Koa then started pouring his gold coins towards Tom, which shocked him, as it was the first time he had seen this amount of treasure. All of the gold that Koa had was from what he collected from the vault of the God Valley, from the Celestial that he robbed, and, of course, the loot from the pirates that he faced, starting from Captain John.

As Koa started pouring the gold, Tom, Kokoro, Iceburg, and Cutty Flam were so distracted that they forgot to count the coins. They just woke out from their stupors when the gold started flooding the entrance of their building, which made them indicate to stop.

"Koa, enough, it's more than three billion already," Tom said, as he did not want to trick Koa and, of course, cheat him, as they go way back. Koa then stopped pouring the gold and noticed that more than half of his loot had disappeared.

'Ahhh, money is really easy to disappear if you buy luxurious things. I think I would need to start a business to fund our kingdom in the future,' Koa thought, while Cutty Flam and Iceburg were swimming in the gold that Koa brought out, something that confused Greenbull.

"Aren't they a profitable business? Is this the first time they've seen this amount of money?" Greenbull then asked Koa, as Greenbull, who was poor before meeting Koa, was now so used to seeing so much gold that he did not even value it anymore.

With the payment settled, Koa and his crew started staying in Water 7, as Koa found a hotel with a restaurant being sold and bought the entire hotel as a starting business, which barely made a dent in his remaining money. Joichiro became the head chef of the restaurant that the hotel had, as Koa started letting Joichiro manage the kitchen.

When Joichiro first came in, the other chefs thought that Joichiro had just managed to become their boss due to his relationship with the new owner. But they were all amazed by his cooking, as he made them taste it. After a week, Joichiro had them all trained in what to do in the kitchen, as he made his recipe for them to follow. This started a massive influx of customers into the restaurant, as they became popular in the entire Water 7.

Enel, Greenbull, and Urf just continued their training, as they all wanted to become stronger while they were waiting for their ship to be finished. Greenbull guided Urf and Enel on how to use Observation Haki, something that Enel easily picked up, as he was already naturally talented. Koa also brought them Sea Stone cuffs, as he explained that they should not always rely on their Devil Fruit abilities. Koa started training them as he focused on improving their natural body strength. Kuzan and Jhin became the ones who would mostly stay in the hotel, acting as its head guards, as they trained the current guards of the hotel. If someone wanted to cause a ruckus, as it was mostly pirates who did not want to pay, the guards would beat them up and redeem their bounties.

This started the routine of Koa Pirates in Water 7, while they were being surveilled by the Marines, as Water 7 is incredibly close to Enies Lobby. They were worried that they would suddenly attack it, but they also did not start a war against them, as Koa and his crew were mostly peaceful, and their strong combatants were busy guarding the New World.
