New Discovery

Shiro rubbed his head in frustration; that class was going to start. He looked at the girl sitting next to him. Shiro kept looking at her, thinking of how beautiful she was; her golden hair brought any man to her. Realizing how long he was gazing at her, he quickly turned his head. She looked at him with a confused expression. "Are you okay?" Her voice rang in his ear; it was soft and seemed so delicate, like it could break under any pressure. Shiro gave her a simple nod, then looked back at Myrrh, who started his teaching.

"Going under the basic understanding of gods and their powers to channel the power of a god, you need a good amount of Fage. Fage is the source to channel and manipulate power."

He said with a slight smile on his face. Do I need Fage to use the gods' powers? Shiro thought to himself that his god was a useless one that could only manipulate bubbles.

It stung a little, but that was about it since it was so weak. Marigold never let Shiro use its abilities. Myrrh went back to his teachings:

"To channel a god's power, you'll need what's called Fage. Its source comes from our souls. When the gods descended, they awakened our Fage. When we channel our Fage, it allows us to connect with the god inside of us and release its power. Every god is unique, as is their user. We respect gods, so we don't make a tier for how strong one is, but how their class is. It falls under two paths. The first is their main stage; it's what the god's main attributes will be: power, speed, range, output, input, defense, control, and lastly, all of the above. For example, if two gods have similar abilities, but one's first stage is power and the other is speed, the one with speed will reach its target first but won't do much damage, while the one with power will arrive late and will have more of an impact. Another example is if two gods have the same ability to control fire, but one is range while the other is control. The god with a range as their stage will be able to attack from a further distance. But the god that is range stage one wouldn't be able to use the flame as a fluid, like being able to make a flame bow or sword as a control stage one."

No duh, Shiro thinks to himself. "The next path will lead the god to you, depending on how you are born. During the first stages of your life, you do a trial called a foreseeing past. When you're young, you'll go unconscious; there, you would be brought to the past, creating a new form of an ancestor. You will go through a quick life experience with newfound powers.

If you accept your humanity, you'll be blessed with angel-like sub-powers, like transformations but being angelic, not horrifying, or like a buff in different areas; subtle different powers, wisdom, and more. Doing this, you'll be called accepted. But rejecting it and gaining demonic-like abilities means you are rejected. Then there is a rare phenomenon where you accept and reject your humanity, called overborn. But at the end of the day, if you're in a legacy, they can overwrite it and give you a passed-down sub-power, being called a legacy."

Myrrh gave a soft laugh, showing his regard for Legacy's having it easy; being done with his speech allowed everyone to exit class. Shiro, walking out of class, was overwhelmed by the amount of information shot at him, so he decided to head to lunch. Reading the options, he was shocked at the prices. "50000 WON for a basic sandwich!" he yelled out loud, getting a few looks and people calling him a weirdo. Shiro looked around with a dumbfounded expression on his face from his outburst. He was not used to these price meals since this academy is for the rich. Being broke, he skipped out and sat down.

Shiro was alone; he had no friends currently, and nobody wanted to talk to him since he wasn't from a high family legacy. His face showed doubt and sadness. "Man, I miss my old friends." Broken out of his thoughts, he heard a soft voice; turning to his side, he noticed the same girl. "Mind if I sit by you? You're the only person I talked to." Without hesitation, Shiro instantly agreed. Her golden hair flew in the air and sparkled in the sky, and his dazing white eyes matched perfectly with it. Shiro tried to push away any lustful thoughts, then her voice arose again.

"I haven't asked for your name," her face full of curiosity. "It's Shiro; mind asking what yours is?" "Oh, what a lovely name! I am Aurelia Solenne, nice to meet you." Shiro's face blushed a little, knowing that she thought his name was lovely.

"Want some of my portion?" she asked, noticing he brought nothing to eat. "Yes, please!" Without second thought, Shiro started to devour the food, eating like a hungry dog. Aurelia was shocked and then gave a crooked smile. Skipping past lunch, it was time for weapon training. The training area was a wide field outside with fences acting as a barrier, along it were rows of weapons standing by. Getting his training clothes on, black shorts with a compressed shirt showing how little muscle Shiro had, feeling a little embarrassed, Shiro ran and grabbed a katana.

His sword partner was Aurelia since he had no one else. They received different looks as they both met up; whispers spread through the crowd, wondering if a nobody was with her. Shiro simply ignored them. Aurelia wore a white skirt with golden tips at the end and a compressed white shirt. They both met each other's gaze, the wind passing by in a silent atmosphere. Aurelia was holding a rapier in her hands.

Knowing how to wield a sword from his sister's teachings over the past years, he got into his stance.

The whistle rang, and they both dashed at each other. Shiro grabbed the hilt with both hands, raising the sword over his head and slamming it down on Aurelia. She quickly sidestepped, her golden hair flowing with the wind. Aurelia followed with a spin to the side, killing intent in her white eyes. Thrusting her sword upward, Shiro turned his head, her blade barely grazing his skin; sparks of red liquid flew. Shiro kicked the ground, causing dirt to fly. Aurelia was shocked by his play, then Shiro kicked her chest, slightly pushing her back as the dust started to fade.

Seeing a figure without second thought, Shiro slashed the air. Aurelia noticed a sharp piece of metal flying toward her, gracefully jumping over it. While falling, she landed softly, opening her eyes in horror as Shiro caught up to her. Eyes dark, he slammed the sword down. Sweat ran down her face as she kicked Shiro's feet, tripping him.

Stunned by this, Shiro fell to the ground; looking up, he noticed Aurelia's sword already at his neck, prepared to stab him at any given moment. Shiro threw his sword and said, "Alright, I give up." A subtle smile appeared on her face; Aurelia sighed, sweat washing over her, and dropped next to him.
