First day, First loss

Chapter 3

First Day, First Loss

Grabbing a bottle of water, Shiro thought to himself about how quickly he got defeated, his face full of defeat. Aurelia, still processing what had happened during their spar, noticed how skilled Shiro was with a sword, thinking his style was good but still had some defects.

During the years when Shiro couldn't use his god power, his sister made him work his ass off every day, swinging the sword and understanding it, which still haunts him to this day. Shiro walked up to Aurelia with a smile on his face and asked, "How long have you been using the rapier?" Aurelia, thinking to herself, said, "About 10 years." Shiro was shocked by her answer, learning the rapier at the age of six was an impressive feat. Aurelia asked him the same question, thinking he had been learning for the same amount of time. "5 years, nothing special like you."

Aurelia didn't expect him to be so new to the sword, but not being a legacy does have its drawbacks. Classes ended early that day since students still needed time to move into their dorms. Shiro left the academy and saw his sister's black car. He hopped in. "How was your first day?" Marigold asked out of curiosity. "It was fine; I lost my first spar," Shiro said, sweat rolling down his face, knowing she wasn't going to like his answer. "Is that so?" Marigold gripped the wheel tighter, clearly showing irritation, her face turning red. Shiro started to get scared, thinking about what his sister might make him do.

Packing up two big boxes into the trunk of the car, Shiro sighed from all the work he had to do. He hopped back into the car and saw his sister. "Don't think you're off the hook. I still remember what you said!" she said in an angered tone, clearly showing frustration. Shiro could only hope and pray it was nothing too harsh as he left the car and arrived at the academy.

Shiro realized he never saw how big this academy was, only exploring part of it; "I'll do that later," he quoted to himself.

Walking through the hallway, every door had a different color depending on the student—some brown, white, a mix of different colors—with their names gold-plated at the top. "Legacies are so lucky for having it gold," Shiro said to himself, feeling upset about it. The floor was a nice dark brown wood, with the ceiling a dark white. While walking through the hallway, different whispers talked about him being a commoner. Shiro, pissed off by the comments, started speed walking to his room, which was far in the back. Shiro stumbled upon Aurelia; she looked at him and smiled. Shiro smiled back, finally reaching his room. He noticed his name was copper-plated. "Wow," he said to himself.

Opening the door, he noticed how small his room was. "Are you serious?"

Since he was marked one of the lowest on the leader board, his room was small; he couldn't even change his door color. Walking through the cramped hall, all around was a dark brown color. There was a door to his right; opening it revealed a bathroom. The floor changed to white, with a small sink, toilet, and shower. "I can barely even fit in here!" Walking out, there was another door to his left, which was a storage room. "Not bad," he said, then Shiro walked into his living room.

There was a window to the right leading to a balcony; on the left, there was an empty shelf. In the middle, there was a dark blue sofa, and on the far right was a basic bed. With a sigh, Shiro said to himself, "This is going to be my home for a few years." Still upset with the idea, he dropped his boxes down and walked to his balcony.

The view was beautiful, full of life. Being on the third floor does have its perks, he said to himself. Looking up, he noticed someone else on the fourth floor. Her golden hair flowed in the air, dancing with the wind; her white eyes sparkled. "Aurelia," Shiro was shocked. Then he looked to his right and saw another girl with blue hair, sparkling yellow eyes, and a beautiful face.

Shiro thought of an idea to mess with her. He waited until night, stuck by the wall to his left as hard as he could while laughing. He heard the person next door slam something. Hearing footsteps walking, his face started to sweat as the sound got louder and louder until it arrived at his door. "OPEN THE DOOR," an angered female voice arose.

Shedding straight tears, Shiro opened the door slightly, but the girl opened it harder. "JUST WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!?" She pushed him to the ground and closed the door, summoning her power, which was ice. She pointed an ice dagger at his throat.

"IM SORRY," Shiro yelled, his face full of fear. Until Shiro looked down to where she was sitting, he pointed to where she was sitting. The girl soon understood what he meant; her face blushed, then she screamed, waking up everyone, and jumped off. They both were shocked. Sometime later, they both sat down on the sofa, still trying to understand what happened. She said, "Just forget what happened, ok." Shiro agreed. "So what's your name?" she asked.

"Shiro."

"What an odd name. Are you that one commoner?" rude, Shiro thought to himself, but he agreed. "Well, I'm the famous Aeris Lune," Shiro had never heard of this overly prideful random, but he just stayed silent. Shiro thought to himself, another legacy; are there any commoners in this hellish place?

Aeris made herself comfortable and ran to the fridge. Shiro, who recently restocked, had a packed fridge. She started to grab multiple different snacks and food.

"Calm down," Shiro told her. "I can get what I want since you want to make so many jokes!"

Shiro hated this high legacy brat.
