PEACE
As he said, he spent the following two weeks hunting in the surrounding forest, by the end he already had 167 bloodpoints, enough to grant one earth grade bloodline.
Thea had also reached the mid stage of rank one. We'll be leaving tomorrow but before then I'll grant one of you a bloodline. Anitta, come forward.
She knelt before him and waited, he touched her forehead and she flinched. What wrong? Nothing, I just remembered how painful it looked on Thea and that made me a bit nervous, it nothing you have to worry about.
It fine if you're not ready, I can give it to somebody else. No, it okay, I'm ready. He nodded, system grant dark raven bloodline. He felt the familiar feeling of something moving through his arm and out of his hand.
Anitta shook, the process did not take as long as it did on Thea, within two seconds she was already rolling and screaming on the ground.
When the pain subsided she stood up with a heavy breath. How do you feel? Asked Thea. I..I feel fine, my thoughts feel clearer and faster.
What type of bloodline did you give me? A raven bloodline why? Makes sense, ravens are known for their intelligence, bloodlines that increase mental strength and intelligence are quite rare, thank you.
She had a smile on her face, with her obsessive love of books, a bloodline that speeds up her thought was very suitable for her.
Mark looked jealous but Ashborn didn't care, if he couldn't even be patient then he might not even give him one, patience was virtue afterall, he thinks. He took out a sack and threw it at her.
What this? Blood cores. Yes I can see that but why are you giving them to me? Wouldn't they be more useful to you? I need you to grow stronger, I know you hate fighting so I doubt you'll go hunting much.
Consider it your first payment as I'm going to leave you in charge of running this place. That not necessary, I was going to do that anyways and you've already done enough for me. It fine, just take them,I insist. That not fair boss, I didn't get any blood cores.
Thea complained with a pout, he knew she was joking ofcourse. I thought you could take care of yourself but if you can't that fine too. No but seriously, unlike her you can go hunting, infact that what I need you to do.
I made you get your own blood cores so you'll get used to fighting beasts, you'll be the one to defend this place when I'm gone. She nodded, she already knew that ofcourse, she wasn't an idiot.
He looked at the two men, as for the two of you, unfortunately I lack the power right now but when I get back we'll sort out your situation. By morning Anitta had already absorbed all the cores.
An aura as dark and deep as starless night filled the place. Thea woke up with a frown while he just smiled. This is why he gave her so many blood cores.
Infact for the past two weeks he did not absorb a single blood core, this place needed another late stage expert to intimidate the surrounding beasts and she had reached that stage.
He looked at her, can you use your bloodline ability? She shook her head, my blood essence is neither large not pure enough to use my bloodline ability yet but I can sense it.
I estimate I will be able to use it when I reach the next stage. He nodded, that strange though, he said with a contemplative look, I could use mine on the late stage so why can't you?
What grade is your bloodline? Sky grade why? And what grade is mine? Earth..I see, so that why? Yes, higher grade bloodlines have purer blood essence.
Now that he thought about it, he couldn't use the bloodline abilities of the other bloodlines he had so why did he think others could? So when are you leaving?
Thea asked, drawing him back from his thoughts. In a bit, I don't see any reason to wait. To prepare for his hunting trip as he called it he only brought 4 daggers, they the last remaining daggers as Thea turned all of them into arrowheads.
He didn't know the type of creatures he will meet beyond the reach of his little humble town but he was hopeful and nervous. What if he met a really powerful beast but he chose to ignore those negative thoughts.
The others accompanied him out of town, he turned back to look at the towns people who had worried looks in their faces. He nodded slightly. They'll be fine, he thought. He trusted Thea and Anitta for multiple reasons.
One, since they received their bloodlines from him, they can't do anything to hurt him and he would rather believe lighting was made of bird meat than believe those two would intentional do anything to harm the towns people.
Let go buddy, he said to Shade and he climbed on his back. The panther was large enough for him to ride. They rode out like the wind moving between the trees at blinding speeds heading south.
The beasts of the surrounding forest ran when they saw them. After the slaughter they brought to this place, none underestimated them.
Stop here, he climbed down Shades back, they had arrived at another part of the forest or it might be a different forest entirely. The trees here were further apart but much larger.
The shortest and smallest of them around him being 2 metres thick and over 25 metres tall and light mist was floating gently between them, it was beautiful. He couldn't sense any life around him so he decided this place was safe for them to camp.
We camp here tonight, tomorrow we'll continue further south. As a bloodline holder of the late stage he couldn't be bothered by the cold of the night so he did not need to build shelter.
He climbed on top of one of the tall trees and slept on a branch. He looked at Shade who was still on the ground, his green eyes looking around vigilantly.
He shook his head, quite a cautious fella. Deciding to ignore the paranoid cat he went to sleep, he strangely felt very tired tonight, must be the journey.
He closed his eyes and went to sleep, it was a peaceful sleep, more peaceful than any he had ever had in his entire life. His entire body felt relaxed.
However his feelings told his something was very wrong, that this peace was nothing but a ruse however his body was too tired, if there is a problem he'll deal with it when he wakes up but for now he has to go to sleep.
Just as he was about to drift even further into his dreams he felt a huge force ram into his head, he woke up in jolt and what appeared before him made his blood run cold.
