A Possessive Alpha and a Brother's Peril

"Let go of me!" I snapped, yanking my arm from Rhys's grip. My heart was pounding against my ribs, anger and confusion swirling inside me. One minute I'd been heading to my front door, the next Rhys Knight had appeared from the shadows, grabbing my arm.

His eyes flashed dangerously in the dim porch light. "Were you just going to ignore me?"

"What is your problem?" I demanded, rubbing my arm where his fingers had left imprints. "You can't just lurk outside my house and then grab me like some stalker!"

Rhys ran a hand through his dark hair, looking more disheveled than usual. The confident smirk I was used to seeing was replaced with something raw, almost desperate.

"I've been waiting for you," he admitted, his voice quieter now. "I saw you with him."

The realization hit me. "You were spying on my date with Liam?"

His jaw clenched at Liam's name. "Do you actually like him, Elara?" The question came out strained, like each word caused him physical pain.
