The Alpha's Unyielding Fixation

The full moon hung lazily in the night sky, casting an ethereal glow across the sprawling grounds of my estate. I stood on the balcony of my private quarters, nursing a glass of whiskey as I contemplated the silver orb above. The moon had always been a source of power for our kind, but tonight, it felt like a mocking reminder of what I'd lost.

"Alpha Knight?"

I didn't turn at the sound of Nero's voice. My assistant knew better than to disturb me during these moments of solitude, which meant whatever he needed to discuss couldn't wait.

"What is it?" I asked, my voice cutting through the silence.

Nero cleared his throat. "Gamma Ethan Croft is requesting permission to visit Celestial Peak next week. He says it's regarding the expansion of the trade agreement."

I took another sip of my whiskey, letting the amber liquid burn down my throat. "Tell him he's welcome. Have the guest house prepared."
