I held my breath as Orion carried me up the steps to my apartment. His strong arms cradled me against his chest, making me feel both vulnerable and protected at the same time. The rain had soaked through both of us, but he didn't seem to mind as he waited for me to fumble with my keys.
"Sorry about the mess," I murmured as he pushed open the door. My apartment wasn't exactly ready for visitors, especially not the Head Alpha himself. Sketches were scattered across every surface, fabric swatches draped over chair backs, and half-finished designs pinned to mannequins.
Orion's eyes swept across the chaos, a hint of amusement playing at his lips. "Creative minds rarely keep tidy spaces."
He navigated through the obstacle course of my living room and headed straight for my bedroom, as if he knew exactly where it was. I felt heat rise to my cheeks as he gently placed me on my unmade bed, his expensive suit now completely drenched from carrying me.
