Chapter 2

The energy fluctuations from the alpha den were faintly perceptible to my senses, allowing me to gauge the unfolding situation.

Perhaps because I had spent my previous life confined to my own cottage, my awareness had been limited, and I hadn't known exactly where in the den they had been indulging themselves.

Now, through Melody's occasional cryptic thoughts, I could vividly "picture" the two of them engaged in an epic battle on the crystal platform at the center of the main den.

The moonlight flowers on the platform, used for concentrating lunar energy, had somehow become props in their flirtation.

My Moon Goddess, these moonlight flowers were the ones I had painstakingly transplanted from the Moon Goddess's sacred temple.

Ugh...

I nearly had my soul shaken.

It seemed Elara had arrived earlier in this life than in the previous one.

Before the two could even change locations, the den's barrier was forcibly breached.

"How could you two do something so sacrilegious to the Moon Goddess! How can you be so shameless!"

As I heard this historic moment, I almost burst out laughing.

Kael and Lyra were both in a disheveled state, frantically searching for animal skins to cover themselves. Just as this was happening, my best friend Melody burst into the room.

She had always disliked Kael, and seeing this scene, she immediately understood what was going on.

"Kael, you're such a bastard alpha! How dare you do something like this behind Carlisle's back!"

Kael never expected to be caught in the act.

But he still stood in front of Lyra like a man, his alpha aura surging: "This has nothing to do with Lyra, don't give her trouble. If you have a problem, come at me."

Well, well, well, how romantic.

"Kael, how could this happen? How could Elder Elara an Carlisle's friend suddenly barge in?" Lyra fake-cried while asking nonchalantly.

Sure enough, that brainless Kael immediately took the bait.

"Mother, why are you here? Did Carlisle snitch on me? I never thought she'd be such a backstabbing bitch..."

Before Kael could finish, his mother slapped him with an energy wave.

"Don't you dare pin your wrongdoings on Carlisle! She would never stoop so low as to snitch to me. Besides, she's your destined Luna chosen by the Moon Goddess herself. Even if she caught you fooling around with other she-wolves, isn't that to be expected?"

My best friend jumped in, not to be outdone, "Carlisle's soul is seriously injured. She can barely get up. I'm here to bring her some herbs. Don't assume all wolves are as heartless as you!"

Kael was stunned.

"What? Carlisle's soul is injured?"

He seemed to consider this possibility within the pack, his expression growing more serious.

So he hurriedly wrapped his fur cloak around himself, intending to investigate at my cottage, ignoring Lyra who was trying to cling to his arm.

"Kael..."

She tried to stop Kael from leaving with her coquettish voice, but my best friend blasted her back with an energy shock.

"Stop acting so disgusting, trying to seduce someone else's soulmate. Have you no shame?"

My cottage didn't have any special barriers, so I couldn't tell what Kael's expression was.

But when Kael returned, he was noticeably calmer.

"You don't need to team up to trick me. Carlisle isn't even in the cottage. I see she's just making excuses to play the victim, trying to use you guys to catch me."

My bestie was about to laugh from anger.

"Kael, did a burrowing dragon eat your brain or something? Who would curse their own soul to get hurt for no reason? I'm contacting her with the crystal right now."

"Fine, if it turns out she really did set me up today, just to get you guys to come to my den and bully Lyra, I definitely won't let her off easy!"
