Chapter 6

"Say, do you want me to stroll with you under the moonlight, or perhaps hunt down some rare prey for you? Let me be clear - anything else is fine, but I absolutely won't engage in any unnecessary intimate contact with you." His condescending tone and scorching breath, nearly pressed against me, made me nauseous.

I looked at his greasy, self-assured demeanor and felt like spewing out all the resentment from my past life.

How could he possibly think that my threats were aimed at winning his love?

What was his love worth? A few strands of wolf fur?

I wouldn't take it even if he paid me.

I felt the need to deeply reflect on myself - how pathetic must I have been before to allow him to act so outrageously?

However, I also knew it was impossible to get him to agree to a formal rejection so casually.

"I don't need your companionship, but I want you to swear on your alpha status that until I voluntarily leave, you'll grant me a share of resources second only to yours as compensation."
