Chapter 3

I hadn't even had time to dodge when the powerful impact hit me.

I was thrown backwards uncontrollably, slamming hard onto the ground.

Seraphina was about to ram into me again.

But the slippery ground caused the beast cart to spin out of control, crashing into several giant trees along the road.

Seraphina's ghostly form became even dimmer from the collision, falling into silence.

The gathered werewolves began calling for a healer.

Damon rushed over, anxiously examining Seraphina's spectral condition.

He then turned to look at me lying motionless on the ground, his eyes filled with hatred.

"Elara, I've been far too lenient with you, which has made you forget your place and repeatedly provoke Seraphina."

I opened my mouth, but couldn't utter a word from the pain as the werewolf core's energy was dissipating.

Damon carefully cradled the weakened spirit, preparing to take it to the Moon Goddess Spring for nourishment.

I weakly reached out my hand.

"Help me..."

Damon sneered, "You're not even bleeding, stop pretending." He thought I only had superficial injuries.

He then ordered his subordinates to drive away.

I watched helplessly as the beast cart disappeared into the distance.

No matter how painful my physical wounds were, they couldn't compare to the heart-wrenching agony in my chest.

Some kind-hearted stray werewolves took me to a neutral werewolf hospital.

When they heard I was injured by an out-of-control beast cart, the healers were shocked."The concealed internal injuries and core energy damage are the most dangerous! Don't move, I'll call for the master healer right away."

My consciousness began to fade.

My vision blurred.

Suddenly, a large hand gripped my wrist with forceful strength.

Damon commanded:

"Your soul essence is similar to Seraphina's. Hurry to the sacrifice chamber and use your priestess powers to stabilize her soul."

Without waiting for my response, he dragged me towards the sacrifice chamber.

The taut string in my heart suddenly snapped.

I shook my head helplessly, tears falling like broken strands of pearls.

"Damon, I'm severely injured and my core energy is unstable. Please, don't..."

Damon's footsteps faltered.

Gently caressing my face, his tone unusually tender, the calluses on his fingertips brushed against my lips, carrying an irresistible pressure.

"Elara, bear with it. I promise this will be the last time."

"Once she's better, we'll officially unite. We'll live a good life together, and I'll make you the most esteemed Luna of the Black Moon pack."

The master healer tactfully advised him: "Miss Seraphina's spirit is merely startled. Such intense power isn't necessary at the moment."

But Damon urged: "Start immediately! Seraphina's soul is weak. It's better to be safe than sorry."The cold sacrificial blade sliced across my wrist, blood gushing forth, forcibly channeling my innate power into the Moon Stone at the center of the altar.

As my strength rapidly drained from my body, I trembled involuntarily, my face gradually turning pale.

Finally, my vision went black, and I collapsed to the ground.

The healer cried out in alarm: "Who brought a critically injured patient here to forcibly extract her power? , save her!"

"Initial assessment shows the patient's core energy is on the brink of shattering, life force rapidly depleting, teetering on the edge of soul dissipation."

I was lifted onto a stretcher and rushed towards the emergency room.

Damon's panicked shouts echoed in my ears.

"Didn't she have no external injuries? Why is her condition so severe?"

"Call all the senior healers! She must be safe!"

When I opened my eyes again.

A strange, powerful Alpha with an aura of ice and snow stood by my bedside, his hand resting on my forehead, infusing me with gentle yet immense energy.

It was Lucian.

The wolf tribe physician beside him looked relieved but still shaken.

"You're finally awake! We were all worried you wouldn't make it. Thank Alpha Lucian arrived in time."

The physician brought over a bowl of recovery potion brewed from moonlight flowers.

"Alpha Damon sent this to replenish your energy. Drink it while it's hot."I glanced at the rare supplements on the bedside table, all courtesy of Damon.

Struggling to get up, I chased after the departing doctor, intending to return them.

Passing by the adjacent recovery room, I saw Damon carefully placing the Moon Stone next to Seraphina's weak spirit, attempting to transfer the energy he had just taken from me to her.

His focused and "loving" expression was captured fully in my sight.

A group of young werewolf doctors huddled together, discussing.

"Alpha Damon really 'cares' for Miss Seraphina. To think that the mighty leader of the Black Moon pack personally watched over her for three days and nights, tirelessly channeling his power just to help her recover quickly."

I suddenly lost all strength.

The supplements in my hands crashed to the floor with a clatter.

At that moment, my father sent a message through secret arts.

[Daughter, those totems you sold anonymously earlier saved our clan. The crisis is now over, so rest well. I'm very concerned about you.]

My eyes welled up with tears as I slumped to the ground, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders.

I tried hard to recall the so-called order, but had absolutely no recollection of it.

Meanwhile, the wolf pack elder I had previously worked with also sent his regards.

[Miss Elara, the misunderstanding has been cleared up, and the resource payment has been settled. Looking forward to the opportunity to cooperate again.]

I raised my eyes once more towards Damon in the recovery room.

My heart, long since numbed, could no longer stir with emotion. All that remained was a sense of relief.Damon, from now on, we're even.
