Damon spoke coldly:
"Look carefully, I'm the groom today."
The guard, however, didn't back down, exuding the frigid aura unique to tundra wolves.
"Today's groom is our Lucian Alpha. I saw him at yesterday's rehearsal and there's no way I'd mistake him."
It was like a bucket of ice water poured over his head.
Damon stood there, dumbfounded.
Seeing his reaction, the guard handed him an invitation woven from moonlight grass.
The gold-embossed words "Lucian and Elara's Eternal Mate Ceremony" instantly stung Damon's eyes.
The guard made a gesture of invitation.
"Sir, please proceed to the guest registration area."
Damon's mind went blank.
He muttered in disbelief:
"Impossible. Elara loves me so much, how could she bond with someone else?"
He pushed past the guard and barged into the inner chamber.
I was having the Moon Goddess's laurel crown placed on my head by handmaidens when I heard the commotion and turned around.
Damon's anxious and flustered face came into view.
