I gaze at him calmly, my tone indifferent.
"It's none of your business."
Rachel steps forward, linking her arm with Aiden's to defend him.
"Lily, it's your fault. Last night was your own mistake. Aiden only asked you to leave to cool off because he was upset. Then you disappeared without a word. Do you know how worried Aiden was when he opened the door half an hour later and found you gone? Not only did you not let him know you were safe, but you're also tangled up with Max. How ungrateful can you be? Aiden brought me here specially to pick out your wedding dress, wanting to surprise you."
I let out a cold laugh.
"Is that so? Well, then I should really thank you for your kindness."
Seeing that I'm not appreciating their gesture, Rachel wants to say more, but Aiden takes another step forward.
"Has no one taught you how to speak respectfully?"
"I'll ask you one more time. Why are you with him?"
Not wanting to waste any more breath, I give Max's waist a squeeze.
