On the eve of my birthday, Ethan and Olivia returned from Hawaii.
Ethan felt puzzled as to why I hadn't contacted him during his long trip.
After all, an engagement was a big deal, and both parties needed to try on their formal wear and rehearse the ceremony.
After much deliberation, he sent me a message in an attempt to smooth things over:
"I bought an emerald ring as an engagement gift. I hope you'll like it."
After sending the message, the system showed that he had been blocked by the recipient!
I had actually blocked him! Ethan was furious, thinking that since the engagement was tomorrow anyway, it would only be the Williams family who would be embarrassed if he didn't prepare properly.
As night fell, Ethan tossed and turned, unable to sleep. He imagined how he would give me the cold shoulder at the engagement party tomorrow, to let me taste what it felt like to be ignored. But deep down, a hint of unease stirred.
