The night before the full moon. I stood in front of my cabin, looking out at the lights of the Nightclaws' main house in the distance.
For the past three weeks, I'd been poring over all the information Grayson gave me. "Dark Moon Rising" was an ancient prophecy: when a celestial alignment that only happens once every five hundred years occurred, Moonshadow and Darknights had to become one to fight off the dark forces.
But what did "become one" in the prophecy really mean? Was it just about bonding as mates, or was there something deeper?
"All packed?" Damian's voice came from behind me.
"Yep." I didn't turn around.
He came up beside me. "You sure you want to go to Moontear Canyon? Tomorrow night is 'Dark Moon Rising.'"
"That's exactly why I have to go." I turned to face him. "The secrets of the Moonshadow are the key to understanding the prophecy. I have to find what my father left behind."
