A Peaceful Night

It was a short while later as I walked out of the bathroom, a towel around my waist, and a cute little fuzzball wrapped up in a towel and held against my chest. I sat down on my couch, sighing as I rested my aching legs. I didn't feel like cooking anything, so I just grabbed my phone and ordered a pizza. This place by my house made a specialty pizza where they used bacon marinated in buffalo sauce, and it was truly magnificent.

After making the call, I just had to sit tight for about 20 minutes. Pretty fast time, but they were right down the road. I began softly petting my cat's head, and she began to purr quite loud, and snuggle deeper into the towel I wrapped her in.

I looked down at her.

"I don't want to keep calling you cat, or this cat. You're pretty smart, so, do you have a name?" I asked, and she looked at me then, and nodded happily.

I couldn't exactly ask her what her name was, so I needed to try and figure out a way to ask her.

"Hmm... I think I have an idea. I'm gonna spell out the alphabet, and you just... I don't know... meow when you want me to stop on a letter. Nod, or paw at me when I have your name. Does that work? It's the best I can come up with." I said, and she meowed in what I could tell was ascent.

"Okay. So... A, B, C-"

*meow*

"C? Okay. A, B, C-"

*Meow*

"CC? Okay-" I said, then she began to paw and knead at my chest, "Hold on, that's it? CC? Like... Cici?"

She nodded happily and rubbed her head against the hand I was using to pet her. I smiled. That was really easy, and a really cute name.

"That's a nice name. I don't think I've told you yet, but my name is Elias Crosse. Everyone that knows me just calls me Eli." I said.

*Squeak*

She made the cutest little noise as she bumped into my chin, causing me to laugh.

"Hahahaha, okay, my dear little Cici, are you hungry? Honestly, when I think about it, I'm not entirely sure if a cat like you would like cat food... well, no harm in finding out." I said, getting up and going into the kitchen.

I grabbed the food I bought her out of the bag, and opened it up. I brought it towards her.

"I guess, just smell this and tell me if it's something you'd like." I said, putting it under her nose.

I did, and she immediately reeled back, and hissed at the food. I pulled it away and held up my hands.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry. I should have known better. You're not a normal cat." I said, and I was about to look for something else when there was a knock at my door.

"Oh nice, already?" I said, as I quickly rushed to my room, slipped on some shorts and a shirt, and went to the door.

Thankfully, my disability paid me a decent amount of money since no one knew what was wrong with me, but I couldn't work due to it. I had enough to pay the 15 bucks for the pizza, and give him a decent tip. My apartment was pretty much paid for by the government too, which were the only good things they ever did for me. I brought it into the kitchen, and placed it upon the counter. Opening the box, I took a big wiff, and nearly got a stiffy from how good it smelled. I grabbed me a plate, and turned around, and found to my surprise that Cici had jumped on the counter, and was eyeing the pizza with a hungry look. I swear she was drooling.

"Do you... want some of this?" I asked, and she nodded so fast I just blinked, and then I laughed.

I grabbed another plate.

"Do you like, want me to cut it up or something?" I asked, and she nodded again. She couldn't very well pick it up and eat it like a person, after all.

I grabbed a knife, grabbing her slice first, and began to meticulously cut it up into small bite sized pieces. I usually made fun of people that ate pizza with a knife or a fork, but I'd make an exception this time. I grabbed a couple slices for myself, and picked up both plates.

"Come on Cici." I said, and she meowed, and jumped up onto my shoulder, and I just chuckled again. She did that perfectly, and without even using her claws.

I sat down on the couch, putting our plates on the table in front of me. She jumped on the table, and without even a second's hesitation, she dug in, and she ate like a starving child. She actually seemed to really like it, and I couldn't help but smile at the adorable scene. I picked up a piece with one hand, and a remote in the other, and turned on the TV.

"Gonna see if anything got updated, or if there's anything new." I said as I launched one of my many anime streaming services.

I decided to start a new show, one that I'd been eying for a while. It was about a dude in a fantasy world that got isekaied into another fantasy world. He was summoned as a hero, but deemed weak, so he was kicked out. Not sure how it happens yet, but he becomes incredibly OP with infinite stats, and meets this cute white haired wolf girl. A man of culture, in short.

Honestly, I just liked cute slice of life stories. It helped me escaped the cold reality that was my life. I began the show, moaning as I took a bite out my food. It was goddamn good today. The show started off pretty good, and even Cici had began to look interested. Once she finshed her food, looking quite full, she jumped on my lap, and layed down, watching the show with me. So far, I liked it.

I ended up watching like 4 episodes of it, before I yawned, feeling incredibly tired. I heard Cici yawn as well, and I smirked as I picked her up gently, holding her close as I walked into my bedroom. I walked over to my bed and set her down. I went and turned on my fan, and I turned off my light. I threw my shirt to the side, and crawled into my bed. I was pulling my blanket up when Cici jumped on my chest, and laid down like she was claiming that spot as hers. I chuckled.

"Taking over my place, princess?" I asked, amused as she began kneading my chest before laying her head down and nuzzling my face, making me laugh, "Okay, okay, I get it."

I pet her softly, soft purrs escaping her as her eyes grew heavy, and she slowly drifted off to sleep. As I drifted off to sleep myself, I was completely and totally unaware of the shift my life was going to take as a result of my new fuzzy friend.
