"Of course I just forgot..." Rachel said each word carefully, but didn't finish her sentence.
She didn't dare make him mad. Cora was still in the car. Who knew what he'd do if he got angry?
"Daddy, why don't you go to our house and get it? Mommy just forgot!" Cora quickly spoke up, thinking her dad had misunderstood her mom.
"Oh, that's a good idea." The man's thin lips slowly spat out each word like popping beans, his voice lazy and magnetic.
His sexy brows lifted slightly, and with his natural good looks, he looked like a straight-up demon.
"No... no..." Rachel instantly rejected the idea. "It's too late... Cora needs to go home and rest."
Their place was small and messy, she couldn't let someone like him step inside.
Also, it was already super late and Cora really did need sleep.
And what if he… Rachel couldn't help thinking about how he kissed her out of nowhere that day.
Her face turned red, and her breathing got all messed up!!!
Rachel pulled the car over to the side of the road, turned to him, and raised her hand to her forehead.
She hooked her lips up into a confident smile and said, "I swear, I'll definitely bring it to you tomorrow."
Her faint dimples and that cute curve of her lips made her look especially soft and pretty.
Her big, clear eyes blinked seriously, it was actually super adorable.
Kellan raised an eyebrow.
His cool gaze landed on Rachel's slightly pale and tired face. Her pink lips parted a bit, and he suddenly had this urge to pull her close and take a bite.
Rachel noticed him just staring silently at her and thought he was about to flip out again.
This guy was seriously unpredictable, she knew he could do anything when he got mad.
After thinking about it, she softened her voice and said in a sweet tone, "Please? I promise I'll give it to you tomorrow."
Seeing her being all shy and sweet, Kellan almost laughed. This woman was actually really interesting, and kind of flexible when she needed to be.
"If you don't give it back tomorrow, I'll punish you."
He smirked. His magnetic voice still carried that natural king-like energy.
Rachel froze like ice had run through her veins.
"Punish?" What the heck kind of punishment??
"If you don't bring it, we'll keep playing the game from the company yesterday." Kellan's lips curled up in a wicked smile.
Rachel blinked, her mind blank for a second...wait. That super handsome face actually looked like he was smiling!!!
Before she could react, he had already opened the door and stepped out of the car. Every movement he made was so smooth, full of elegance and that classy rich-guy vibe.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Yesterday... the game they "played" at the company…
What game?! Wait..was it… the kiss?!
As she looked up at him, she noticed a luxury car behind them that must've followed them without her realizing.
Kellan opened the door and got in.
Thinking about what he said just now, Rachel's face turned red all over again.
---
The next day, Rachel arrived at the shop super early and finished all her work.
But Kellan's words from yesterday kept echoing in her mind, she barely slept at all last night.
"Pervert! Creepy man!!" she muttered under her breath. She had to find a way to sneak out and return the clothes to that evil man.
The way Kellan had threatened her yesterday… she was sure if she didn't return the clothes today, he might actually do something scary.
Ring, ring, ring...
The phone at the front desk rang.
Rachel perked up her ears, hoping it was an order from Marriott International.
"Rachel, go deliver the coffee to Marriott International," Barrett ordered.
"I'll go, I'll go!" Stella, who was standing nearby, instantly lit up when she heard it was for Marriott International.
But then she realized she was being too eager and quickly added with a fake smile, "Rachel's been working so hard delivering all the coffee these past few days!"
Rachel blinked, kind of confused by what Stella just said.
Normally, Stella never wanted to do any deliveries. So why was she suddenly all excited about this one?
If it wasn't for needing to return the clothes, Rachel would've gladly let Stella go.
Stella had been suspicious of Rachel ever since she came back last time wearing high-end men's clothes.
There was no way the CEO would be into someone like her, right? She must've hooked up with some rich old guy inside the hotel or something.
That had to be it.
The two of them stared at each other, both silently judging.
Just a few days ago, they purposely made Rachel deliver 20 cups of coffee, hoping she'd mess up and get scolded.
But somehow, she came back just fine, and even wearing luxury men's clothes.
Barrett was starting to think Rachel wasn't so simple.
"Rachel, you go," he said coldly, not noticing the hidden glint in Stella's eyes.
Stella added quickly, "I'll go with Rachel."
She kept insisting, and Barrett didn't argue. He thought Stella was being kind, helping Rachel even though Rachel had embarrassed her before.
"Rachel!" A familiar voice called out as soon as they stepped into the hotel lobby.
It was Faith, standing a few meters away and waving at her.
"How are you? Are you okay?" Rachel walked over, genuinely worried.
"I'm fine. Thank you so much for yesterday," Faith said, holding Rachel's arm tightly. "When you're free, let me treat you to a meal."
"There's no need to be so polite," Rachel smiled softly.
Not far off, Stella saw Rachel chatting with someone at the front desk and sneered.
She quickly grabbed four cups of coffee, way fewer than she was supposed to deliver, and rushed upstairs.
Stella held the tray of coffee, grinning smugly to herself.
Who in their right mind would help that annoying girl deliver all this stuff?
If it wasn't for the insanely handsome CEO she wanted to get close to, she would've never bothered coming along.
Just thinking of the CEO's perfect face, sharp nose, deep black eyes, and tall figure made Stella's heart skip a beat.
He was better looking than any celebrity.
Just one glance was enough to make people fall for him. She was like a fan about to meet her idol.
"CEO, I brought you coffee!" Stella said sweetly, her voice all soft and flirty.
There was no one at the front desk, so she just walked in on her own.
Kellan was busy with work and thought it was Rachel who came. His lips curled up slightly as he looked up.
But the second he saw it was this woman with heavy makeup and a weirdly flirty expression, his face instantly darkened.
His cold, sharp black eyes gave off this freezing aura.
"Get out. Now."
