failed ambushed before heading home

After calming down and getting his thoughts together, Josh activated his earth power again and strengthend the dome.

He then activated his special eyes, there were over 20 of them. They all had guns and two of them even had powers. Josh could tell one had the firepower at level four because he had seen it before but the other power was level three and he hadn't seen it before so he wasn't sure what it was. " How generous of them to bring me a new power" Josh smiled. Increasing The metal body power to level eight. and now it was able to coat his entire skin in metal not just his bone. He looked like a metal manican with purple eyes. But he could still move. He then used the rest of the power into Earth and sunk himself underground. he first rose behind the two powered people who were standing next to each other.

He grabbed the back of their necks and slammed their heads together. Knocking them out on the spot and absorbing the power he didn't have. He then sunk back into the ground as bullets started to fly towards him. He could hear the confusion amongst the men. " Where did he go. I thought they said he had fire powers." Another said" we need to run and get the rest of the people. " But before they had a chance to run, Earth walls rose up in front of them and then fell on top of them ending all of them.

Josh was exhausted he needed to sleep even though he didn't tire often. He quickly got into the boat and flew to the Earth dome. After landing he opened the dome and noticed the kids were still sleeping he used his telekinesis to fly them to the boat, laying them each on a bench. He then tied a belt around them to make sure they didn't roll off while they flew. Activating the boat it lifted to the air and soard across the sky.

Josh decided to make the boat go slower and higher so he could nap.

He was woken up by the kids "Mr Josh we're hungry" Josh rubbed his eyes and said " how about some jerky and berries "and pulled out some jerky and berries that he had stored along with a water. The kids were ecstatic they were so happy it unsettled Josh. How long had it been since they ate. They finished their food quickly, so Josh gave them seconds and thirds until they were out of jerky and berries. " At least we're headed back home where I can get more supplies" he thought to himself.

Josh opened a mountain dew but did not smoke a cigarette this time because of the kids. He did not wish to be a bad influence, Even during this new era. As he took his first sip the kids immediately started staring at him. With the cutest face, toga said " Mr Josh we haven't had pop in a long time can we please have one sip" Josh grumbled a little because it was his favorite but in the end decided to give them each their own can of mountain dew. After all he still had several cases.

This had him thinking he would go to a Pepsi factory and find out how to produce mountain dew on his own " yeah that's a great idea" he thought.

While Josh was busy thinking togy and toga were staring over the edge of the boat. " Mister Josh how is this boat flying" Togy said.

" I used a monster Stone to make it ,it's what I call a power item. Josh replied but he was shocked by Toga's response. " What's a monster Stone"

Just wondered if he should tell them but he finally decided to speak. " That's what gives the monsters their power inside of each of them there's a powerful Stone. I have found out through my experimentation, that you can make special items and weapons and armor. And you can also use them to get stronger I believe.

" Wow we didn't know that Mister Josh. thank you." Toga said.

" Of course. I don't like secrets if you're honest with me I will be honest with you." Josh responded and continued "your word is all you have at the end of the day. So I always try to keep mine"

"I will always keep my word too. I promise! " The kids yelled at the same time.

Josh smiled at this. Maybe he could be a good influence. He was starting to really feel like a new person. " Maybe I can become a hero" he thought to himself as the kids watched the sky together. " I will go back to defeat the rest of the monsters after the kids settle into the settlement. There weren't many left and I've already defeated the strongest."

Experimenting Josh found out his new power was a nature power. he was only able to tell because he made leaves grow off the wood . " I could probably do great things with this I will experiment more at the village" thought to himself.

Soaring through the sky time passed it was getting dark. " Look there." Josh said as he pointed out the settlement. " That's home" it's

" Wow theres so many people" Togy said Hanging over the edge looking at the settlement. With a serious face toga asked " what if they don't like us? what if they're scared of us?

"Don't worry about that. You will fit right in" Josh said witha smile as he started to decend. " There are some very good people here"

Apon landing Joe ,Delilah andCynthia came running over. Joe spoke first. " Welcome back notice anything different? "

Josh was confused at that question. So he activated his eyes and that's when he noticed. The settlement population increased by over twenty people. Not only that at least half the people in the settlement now had powers. " How is this possible" Josh blurted out as he rememberd people could learn powers. A good portion had the Earth's ability or strength and a few had water and fire.

" We taught her abilities to people which ones they wanted to learn. Some wished to stay unpowered which we agreed was ok. " Joe said and then change the subject when he saw the children." Who are these two little ones"

" This is Togy and this is toga" Josh said gesturing to the two kids that were hiding behind his legs. " I found them out in the open being attacked by monsters. I offered them safe haven here. they are strong, very strong. It's good to see you Delilah maybe you could show them around?"

With a big smile on her face Delilah answered " of course togy, toga I'm Delilah come with me. I'll show you where you going to be staying." She then gestured the kids to follow her and they did.

Once the kids had walked back to the encampment area Josh continued" their village was afraid of their power and ran them out. I wish to do right by them they even saved me."

" Of course we'll do right by then" Joe answered then continued. " I didn't think you would be back this soon what are the plans now"

" I was just bringing them back. And checking on the village to make sure everything was good. I also need more supplies. Have you started gardening yet? Josh asked.

" Yes but it'll be a month or two before anything's grown but we do have other things like jerky and we have some cows now stashed in the back" joe answered and Josh responded" don't you worry about that I'll go look at the gardening setup and see if one of my new powers can make it faster. And good we will need more livestock"

That is when Josh noticed Cynthia had risen two level six already. " You have gotten quite strong yourself" Josh said." Have you been training hard"

Cynthia began to smile uncontrollably as she answered. " I've been training very hard and I've learned Wheild ice." Then Ice started to form a sword in her hand. And once formed she through it into the sky then exploded in two dozens of ice shards landing all around them.

" Very very impressive and I would love to spar with you but I have things I need to do I want to get back out there as soon as possible. I'm very proud of your progress though"

As Josh spoke those words Cynthia's cheeks turned beat red as she ran off yelling" thank you"

" She is quite the weird one. I think she's perfect for you." Joe said with a Snicker" all she can talk about is how she wants to be strong like you"

" Well that's good we could use more strong people" Josh said then asked " is there any more news"

" Just we've spotted a few of those white robed guys out around. They haven't seen us yet but we have a feeling they're looking for they're missing friends. " Joe said.

Josh paused for a moment then spoke." you need not worry my friend. When I leave I will look for them and deal with them before I head off. But we can small talk more later it looks like I should get some things done so I can head off." Josh then turned and started heading towards the new gardening area.

Joe was left standing there with his thoughts. "We've seen a lot of them I hope he's gotten strong enough"

As Josh approached the gardening area he could not help but admire the setup. It was a large area which was once a parking lot. It was now dozens of rows of crop that had just started growing through the ground. There was corn, there were potatoes, there were all sorts of vegetables. And there was a little enclosed area where they were going strawberries and things like that.

Josh decided to start experimenting with The Big Field. He walked over and dropped to the ground. Putting his hands into the dirt he activated the new nature power. He could not feel all of the nature, life and produce around. Using his energy he was making the produce grow faster it did not seem to be much faster though.

So he sunk all of his powers into that power making it level nine plus. He felt the surge of energy going to the plants and produce and immediately everything around had sprouted up into full growth. Not just that they looked four times the size with four times the produce. Everybody came running around at this marvelous site. Even the greenhouse and all the plants in a mile area had grown ridiculously. Josh immediately went a strawberry and as he came out of the greenhouse eating it he heard everybody's outburst of happiness. " No way how is this possible." I don't know man this is crazy I thought we were only going to have jerky for months" " this is a miracle"

Joe ran up to Josh and asked " this is incredible is this one of your new powers?"

" Yes it is" Josh answered then continued " no get the people to harvest it all and replant everything and I'll do it one more time before I leave"

Josh had a huge smile on his face. It had only taken a quarter of his massive well of energy. With him the settlement would always be prosperous.

After about an hour they had cleared the field, and greenhouse of everything. and another half hour later they had replanted everything. Once again Josh walked up and put his hands in the dirt. Using his powers everything grew again to the same increased size. All the people watching were all struck jumping around enjoy. Josh left them to harvest again and went up to Joe.

" We put a good portion of supplies in your boat. The stuff that may go bad will you Cynthia's power to cover in ice. You may have to use your ice every now and then to recover" " Joe said handing Josh a carton of cigarettes and asked. " We also got these for you while your were gone. Will you be leaving now."

" Thank you Joe and yes I will be leaving" Josh answered and continued" I just want to say bye to the kids first"

" There all sleeping " Joe said with a frown.

Without responding Josh walked away. He found paper and a pen and wrote letters for the children. stating how long he expected to be gone and if they needed anything to ask Joe. He then walked back to Joe and handed him the letters. " Give these to them would you."

Of course" Joe answered then hugged Josh." Be safe out there Josh

" Of course." Josh said with a smile as he headed back to his boat. there was a new chest filled with all sorts of snacks , vegetables and fruit. Josh was ecstatic. He didn't even eat this good before falling powers. As he was about to leave Cynthia ran up jumping and hugging him tightly. " You can't leave without saying goodbye I thought we were friends"

Just smiled and hugged her bac" goodbye Cynthia keep the little ones safe would you"

"Of course " she smiled as she watched Josh fly away in his flying boat. She thought to herself " of course I would fall in love with someone who is beyond my reach"
